How about the Siena starter, still in the game with an 11 point lead and 11 seconds to play, jacking up a three point shot--real classy. Maybe He had a bet on the game - Siena -13 1/2

I think the better options are (1) letting the clock run down, or (2) trying to set up the walk-ons or other bench players so they can score some points

IIRC, Sam Iorio took a classless three at the buzzer against us on Senior Day last year

A great message and something Nelson can emphasize with recruits Not for nothing but that was a shot clock out of time shot. I don’t expect them to take a turnover which would be rather demeaning to our guys.

Not sure if I am the only one, but all things considered, I'm look as today as a net positive overall. The question is- can they build on this and continue to be competitive.

ESPN lists 7 players for HC. So, no Verbeek, Lowder, Sandy, Copeland, Reilly, Yuetter. At all? To be fair, there’s probably only one guy listed here (maybe two) who has shown they can play at a D1 level, so Nelson thought that rolling with the seven guys he played today gave us the best chance to win. No real complaint, clearly Lowder's either injured or not doing what the staff wants him to do (more likely). Copeland is injured (too much, IMHO, but that's just my frustration showing). The others, from what I've seen, too early to tell; obviously time is more on the side of the freshmen. Hopefully my last memory of Verbeek as a player won't be the little guys from UMass Boston hitting 3s over him.

I've always felt the MAAC is the most natural home for HC. If only there were some way for HC to keep fball in the PL and move everything else to the MAAC. How was Fordham able to pull it off? Just another example of how out of balance HC's sports program is. When you step back you realize how our history kills us.

What an awful idea the MAAC would be for HC athletics.

The current state of HC hoops has nothing to do with conference affiliation. It has everything to do with a decade of crap leadership.

Surely you know that Fordham has been getting killed in MAAC hoops almost every year since joining. IMHO, the Cross does not need more of that.

Totally agree. I used to think it was the PL but it is a leadership problem not just coaching. The sports debacle goes all the way to top! If football is only sport they care about, then cut a bunch of minor sports and go FBS!! But MBB would be at bottom in any conference at any level at this place in time

HC hoop in the PL has basically killed the program....Willard years not withstanding....there are about 25 people who like it and they are the ones who still post here and go to the games at Hart....everyone else has moved on

Fordham left the MAAC about 30 years ago, never to return. Had they been in the MAAC the last couple of decades, they might’ve managed a few competitive seasons.

It actually revived somewhat after joining the patriot league.

Nelson also mentioned the importance of getting to practice on time, and buying into the "attack and serve" culture he is trying to create. "Attack" is easy to understand. Could anyone expand on "serve"? Does that mean serve the team and not yourself? Or serve in the sense of feed or pass to the open man?

If Lowder doesn’t play, we could go winless in PL. Even with him, we will be lucky to win 2 games. Could be a 30 loss season!! 😳

We should be in the A-10 if not Big East.....just absolutely spinning our wheels playing hoop in the PL....never a good fit, athletically anyway, outside of football.
Nice league....but if hoop is supposed to be our marquee sport....not the right league.

4 coaches in 10 years, countless last place finishes in PL, 2 winning seasons in last 11, possible 30 loss season numerous player suspensions and transfers. What conference would be knocking at HC’s door? Little East maybe. Surprised PL is not kicking them out!
