There's no snowball chance in hell of playing any ball in the fall or winter in Nannychusetts. Might as well admit it. Unless we call a ball game a "protest", then it will sail through with no problem.

"A football game broke out at a protest on the Holy Cross Campus today. The protest has been rescheduled to next Saturday and they will keep trying to complete it through November. Film at eleven."

From Baker's phase three To me, that means HC can play football at Fitton, with spectators.

I don't think there will see spectators at college football games in New England, with the exception of maybe a handful of will call tix per player.
Given the climate (i.e. many schools operating with 1-2 classes at home for a semester, Ivy thinking of rescheduling to spring, schools/conferences banning overnights), I highly doubt fans at Fitton will be on the table this fall.

Agree - it will be difficult but not impossible given the size of Fitton. I could see season ticket holders given the opportunity to attend, perhaps according to a lottery system with a very small capacity of fans being permitted to attend each game. Immediate families of players should also be permitted to attend, with each player being able to itilize their allotment of tickets.

I covered the NCAA Women's Hoops regional at Amherst which was closed to the public. They allowed no parents in the games or anyone that wasn't team personnel.

That's cool, but it was also four months ago in early March. We are more knowledgeable about this virus now.

The “Charge of the Light Brigade” continues.
I will not be joining them as I maintain social distance when I venture forth from the hermitage for observation of the battle. 😎
However I did order my football season tickets to support the program, with no intention of occupying my seats this fall. I hope everyone renews their tickets to keep the program viable.

Lafayette cancels Sept 12th game with Navy, Middies looking for replacement.

Lafayette cancels Sept 12th game with Navy, Middies looking for replacement. The explanation delivered on the Lafayette website is that the Dept must go through a six week "resocialization" period. On the other hand, athletes cannot return to campus before Aug 8 which is the time regular students start to return. So six weeks goes beyond the Navy game. If Lafayette is correct no PL member could start any earlier despite the Sept 4 start date set be the League. Sounded like a screw up by the president's council.

T he Patriot League, of which Lafayette is a member, has seen multiple early-season games canceled with others likely on the chopping block. Colgate was scheduled to open against at Western Michigan on Sept. 4 but instead [WMU] will play Stony Brook. Army-Bucknell (Week 1), Hawaii-Fordham (Week 2) and Syracuse-Colgate (Week 3) could also be rescheduled or canceled.
www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/navy-football-second-fbs-team-to-see-game-canceled-amid-coronavirus-pandemic/_____________________________________________________________________________________________ Moving apart from the actual data and science and looking at the Covid-19 narrative and the way this is trending at the Northeast progressive campuses, it would not surprise me if HC (and the PL) bails on the fall season. Certainly hoping this is not the case.

The Patriot League is so freaking soft. If wanting to protect the health of its students, fans and communities makes the Patriot league soft, then sure.

This is a weak-ass policy. If the writing's on the wall that you can't play sports, call the frigging season off and be done with it. Don't chop the hand off, then the arms, then the leg...
Or, if they think they can have a season, say what the season consists of.

As I mentioned in another thread, once the Ivy decides what they are doing the PL will mirror it. Dopes in Center Valley can't make a decision on their own, and would screw up a bowl of cereal.
