I watched the BE final this afternoon. Georgetown won a fun game 10-9 over Denver. It was on CBSSN so they promoted the PL game at halftime.
Championship tickets for Memorial Day weekend in East Hartford are on sale now

That’s a real kick in the teeth to the greyhounds.
Yesterday, at the conclusion of the JMU-SHSU football game, a number of SHSU football team members jumped into the stands to be congratulated by the fans. I saw several players hugging and kissing people in the stands. Hope the players have completed their Vaxx. Don’t be surprised if several members of the team test positive and will not be available for the National Championship game next week, Seemed kind of reckless on their part, and that the coaching staff did not empathize the safe distance protocol.

Believe that Jonathan DeMontagnac is Lenny DeMontagnac's son. Class of 92, football wideout.

Yes, I believe it is his son. I noticed Jonathan’s commitment on October 26, 2020. See me note below regarding the incoming class. crossports.freeforums.net/thread/5890/mens-lax-2022-recruitingOct 26, 2020 17:44:06 GMT -4 Crucis#1 said: www.insidelacrosse.com/recruiting/commitments?class=2021&league=1Haze, I believe you are looking at the current junior class in high school regarding college commitments. For the High School class of 2021, HC class of 2025, Inside Lacrosse has listed 11 commitments. I have provide a link to 2021, as the previous link was for 2022 or current High School Juniors. One of the commitments for the HC class of 2021 is Jonathan DeMontagnac from Oratory Prep. I believe he is the son of Len DeMontagnac, who played football at HC. At this point, I would not be hitting the panic button regarding the High School class of 2022, since the evaluations and commitments were based on the students playing their freshmen year. Their Sophomore year was cancelled in most of the country. Tough for a coach to offer based only on a freshmen year evaluation.of skills and grades.

Well, most of the recruiting in lax is done through clubs/summer tourneys not in the schools.

The link in the post on October 26, 2020 did not have Gavin. According to the current Inside Lacrosse website, for High School class of 2021, Holy Cross Class of 2025, he committed on 4/14/21. The High School class of ‘21 will not be enrolled until this coming August. Easy to get confused regarding the two reference years. www.insidelacrosse.com/recruiting/college/team/Holy+Cross/58The original link you posted in October was for the High School Class graduating next year in June of 2022. Inside Lacrosse has not posted any committed recruits to Holy Cross from that class yet. Maybe the lack of commitments as of last October is the reason for the coaching change. You posted the following which reference the class of 2022 Post Options Post by purplehaze on Oct 26, 2020 at 4:50pm The class of '21 is enrolled and hopefully playing in the spring - so the class of '22 should be taking shape and I checked the 'inside lacrosse' website for an update I hope it's just a lack of communicating our commits to these folks but we are not even listed on this attachment - you will notice all other PL schools and the usual D.1 power teams are well on their way to complete their classes. Maybe one of our posters has an explanation (certainly it's not that the SID's office is too busy) www.insidelacrosse.com/recruiting/commitments?class=2022&league=1

Mixed results this weekend in the national tourney - Lehigh lost to Rutgers 12-5, but Loyola (probably the last at-large to get into the tourney) went out to Denver and won 13-12 - they face Duke in the quarterfinals

The score was 14-13 won by Loyola over Denver.
Game went down to the last second with an outstanding save by the Loyola goalie Sam Shafer.

Impressive win for Loyola. My daughter recently picked up lacrosse so I’m starting to learn the rules. Pretty cool game, at least the parts I understand.

The rules are more similar now than what they used to be when the women had only natural (Literally, by nature)boundaries for out of bounds. That was very strange.

The 2021 and 2022 Lacrosse National Championships for D1, D2 and D3 are being played at Pratt and Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field this weekend. www.ncaa.com/championships/lacrosse-men/d1The playing surface is natural grass. Watching the games this afternoon with the first between Virginia and Duke, and the second between Maryland and Duke, the playing surface is not showing any distress despite the heavy rains yesterday and today in East Hartford. With the constraints of Fr.K field regarding seating and proximity of restrooms and concessions, HC should consider playing select games once the ground has thawed to Smith Stadium. Apparently there is not a restriction on playing the National Championship games on natural grass. HC Lacrosse playing 3 or 4 games in late March and April will allow enough time for the field to recover for Soccer season in the fall. This option seems reasonable considering Smith Stadium would be a better venue to host Patriot League games against Loyola, Army, Lehigh and Navy. After seeing the games in East Hartford, it is time for ADMB, Coaches JL Reppert, Amanda Belichick and Facilites Director Steve Pizzi to consider the use of Smith for Lacrosse. Exclusive use on an artificial surface is not necessary, and Fr. K field, baring significant upgrades may be holding back the program.

Dan O’Connell, as a grad transfer from Holy Cross was just mentioned during the National Semi Final game between Duke and Maryland. After Maryland scores their 9th goal, Dan is on the field at the X, as the FoGo.

How much could it cost to add some seats and concessions to Fr K Field? Bathrooms might be more expensive but it seems like more seats and basic concessions shouldn’t be that hard.

Dan did not see a lot of action for Duke as a frosh handled most of the FOGO duties all season -Still a great opportunity to spend a grad year in Durham with the lax season ending today with 14-5 loss to Maryland UVA won the other semi 12-11 over UNC (Wonder if Dan outbound will see Brian Foley inbound to Durham)

I’m also thinking about ADA accessibility as well. For someone who has limited ability either walking or using a wheelchair, getting to Fr.K field is extremely difficult. Easier access to Smith Soccer especially the top level being directly accessible from the loop road.
An upgrade to Smith, with a new video board and possibly additional seats on the east side would make it a very attractive venue for a both Soccer and Lacrosse. Regarding Concessions, Just have a couple of food trucks along with the novelty trailer stationed on the loop road around the Luth next to the track and on the west side of the building. Seems easier and less expensive than a new physical building that would have limited usage. No one wants cold hamburgers and hot dogs. Besides with the food trucks, each game could have different trucks and themes. We could have Mexican, Chinese, Italian, Greek, Middle Eastern, Southern US, etc. Certainly could be attractive to the students, and fans along with promoting cultural nights to go along with the games. Just rolling out the ball is not enough to put fans in the seats anymore.

I don't favor turf for college soccer but HC might have to bite the bullet and "turf" Smith if it advances the lacrosse program.
