May the soul of Robbie Roper rest in peace and his loved ones find comfort at this difficult time of year (for any who are coping with loss).

If I remember correctly, the soccer team a few years ago had a player named Jordan Michael.

New Offer:
From Rumson - Fair Haven HS in New Jersey. Listed as a 6-3, 225 QB/ATH.
A quick look at his Twitter indicates an offer from Wagner and a PWO offer from Fordham.

QB-Athlete What an unusual combo Implies he is not really a QB

I think there are two main issues. The money part should be clear to the recruit when offered even though we as fans have no way of knowing. The other part is for how long an “offer” remains open. If we need one DT, we’re going to offer a few guys we feel similarly about at the same time. Once the first one accepts, the other offers may be pulled. I assume the pulling of offers is communicated to the players in a timely fashion. I would guess we also tell some guys up front that we’re making them an offer but there’s only one spot at his position and the first to accept will get it. It’s messy but don’t know how to make it better. All of the above it how it occurs to the most part. Kids can drag their feet as well and Coaches will say - we want an answer or we are moving on to our next guy. Happens all the time. Regarding the scholarship money - I'm not sure how it's communicated and it if it changes along the way - either positively or negatively. I know it can change positively if a player decides to play one offer off of another. Regarding communication back to the player if their spot has been filled. I think sometimes yes and sometimes no. In a 6 week window my guess would be yes. However with offers made over the early part of the summer, I think both sides stop recruiting each other and it's understood. What happens if a kid gets an offer very early in his recruiting window and jumps on it with an immediate yes. How much obligation does the college have to him?

I think either side is allowed to change their minds until a letter of intent is signed and delivered. Kids often walk away from their verbals. I think schools typically honor their obligation to give a kid a scholarship if they offered one and a kid verbally accepted. I’m certain there are examples where schools have not done that but it would be a tough way to get recruits if you have a reputation for pulling the rug out from under them.

Yes I believe that's right. It happens rarely where a player says Yes within days of being offered.
That said - HC makes offers throughout the entire cycle and based on those offers creates a board at each position - ranking their offerees from top to bottom. If their #5 WR prospect says yes early - and they are still actively recruiting #1-4 then at the end of the cycle that scholarship may no longer be there if #1-4 commit. HC92 is right in that you don't want to be known as a school that pulls offers, but I think it's generally understood this is the way the process works.
5 weeks until signing day; 3 weekends to host recruits. Coaches can visit players in person starting on 1/13.

Stolsky commits to Minnesota. I think both of his parents went there. Stinks - was hoping he’d take a full ride over the PWO.

dharry Stolsky was not high on our list. We have other priorities right now.

On film, Stolsky looked good- moved quickly to the ball with great angles and either anticipation or preparation. If his position wasn't a priority, I get it, but he is a football player, and there were multiple options for him on the field.
That said, if his dream school was Minnesota, we were unlikely to get him even if he was our top priority.

efg72 People coming back and only "SO" many dollars allotted. Priorities are higher at other positions.

transfer portal era... a p/w/o at P5 program probably still has full 4 yrs of eligibility next recruiting cycle.

dharry A little nugget for you regarding the Stolsky kid going to Minnesota. Stolsky is from the Kalamazoo area in Michigan. The head coach at Minnesota PJ Fleck (originally from Chicago) used to be the head coach at Western Michigan located in Kalamazoo. I'm sure there is a coaching connection there somewhere.

Does HC's campus covid restrictions effect our football recruiting weekends coming up, starting this weekend ? Getting kids on campus to see the facilities is critical

A bit off topic, but looking at twiiter recently, it seems like FBS guys are bouncing all ovah the place to other FBS schools....more and more it seems like FCS level football is the true D1 football level....in the traditional sense anyway.
