Yeah, pretty sure Lehigh won't lose by 49 points to Fordham like Wagner did. Can't speak to any of the others but the Lehigh defense looks to be getting better as they mature and if they can get their offense in gear they can be dangerous. The word "dangerous" should not be utilized in any fashion to describe the 2021 Lehigh Engineer football team. Their offense is is the worst in the history of the Patriot League, and their defense is maybe decent.

Lehigh is the most offensively challenged college football team I’ve ever seen. That’s saying something considering Georgetown and Bucknell have had some woeful offenses over the past two decades.

A "flagship" is a matter of perception. Michigan is considered a Big 10 flagship and it hasn't won a football title there in 18 years. As to Georgetown, well, if a school doesn't want to double the number of athletic scholarships offered at the school merely to play in one sport in the Patriot League, that's their choice. If they're not allowed by the PL to recruit athletes that are admittable at nearly every other PL school based on SAT scores, well, that's not their choice. Are you recommending that Georgetown admit football players who do not have to take timed tests? At a minimum, I'm recommending the deemphasis of SAT's within the Academic Index. When a high band kid at Fordham isn't even available on Georgetown's low band, there's a problem. Long term, the PL should divest itself of the Index as a whole and return admissions to the member schools.

Let's see the challenge that Gilmore has vis-a-vis Holy Cross re: experience level. We have historically complained about the disadvantages that our alma mater has faced but I also think for the most part there is consensus that experience counts in athletics and particularly in the Patriot League.
I looked at the roster of Holy Cross and Lehigh.
Class HC Lehigh Fr. 18 25 So 26 31 Jr 22 21 Sr 28 7 5th Year 0* 2 Total 94 86
*= HC does not specify 5th year on roster but presumably a number of seniors are 5th year seniors
So, Holy Cross has a roster of 8 extra players vs. Lehigh. If this was reversed, I suspect we'd be screaming bloody murder as to why we are undermanned against our league competitors. 65.1% of Lehigh's roster are either freshmen or sophomores. Holy Cross freshmen and sophomores make up 46.8% of the roster. So, in addition to having more players, on average our guys are older and presumably more experienced. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy about that and hope and believe our younger players will ably fill those future openings.
How about starters? Why is Lehigh so woeful beyond the understaffed roster?
I looked at the starters in the last game for each team.
Defense Class HC Lehigh Fr 0 1 So 0 4 Jr 2 5 Sr 9 0 5th year 0 1
Offense Class HC Lehigh Fr. 0 1 So 3 3 Jr 4 4 Sr 4 3 5th Year 0 0
Admittedly, the offense team experience level is much closer parity than the defense. And it's the offense that really, really is poor for the Mountain Hawks.

What is Colgate’s lack of TD streak up to? Lehigh I'm assuming you meant....not sure going back to the Spring but they have 0 TDs in 6 games this Fall...9 points total. So. Illinois 42 So Dak St 41 F OT Jackrabbits 1st L I believe yrs, thank you, I meant Lehigh. Looking at their spring schedule, they had one TD in 3 games.

Speaking of Wagner, I have a soft spot for the school. I recall HC playing them a number of years ago. One of our players--a wide receiver I think--got hurt in the game and was hospitalized in NY. We heard later that the Wagner coach visited him and brought a pizza. That impressed me very favorably. That was another Gilmore crushing defeat. Ahead by 3 (or more, less than 7 for sure) late in the 4th quarter, our QB ran for a first down, tried to get a little extra, got popped; and the fumble was run back 50 or so yards setting the Seahawks up for the game winning score. Not TG's fault, really. Their stadium was open on one side and the webcast showed a neat backdrop of the Verrazano (I think) Bridge.

Re: SDakSt: They got a 14 point play (guy was upended inches from the goal line, coughed it up, and it was run back for a TD) and still lost. Tough night for JMU too. Missed a 27 yard field goal and then a 33 yard one in the final 10 minutes and lost by 1. Shockingly, URI is in first place in the CAA!
