Thanks, as always, for your hard work, breezy! My interest on recruited athletes is like concentric circles towards a target as we get closer to the center of the target, the greater the interest. Outermost circle: offers Campus visits?Middle circle: verbal acceptances Innermost circle: signed NLIs

Solid player (even if from Don Bosco - I am a Bergen Catholic grad remember). IMHO, he would see playing time as a frosh, starting on special teams at the beginning.

How times have changed. On the 1969 team (Class of 1970 seniors), believe the largest/strongest/biggest (not tallest) player was co-captain, Bill Moncevicz, son of "Hip." Believe he weighed in at 265 lbs and he was huge. These high school recruit lineman are "light" when they weigh only 275.

Today the percentage of that body weight is more likely to be higher for muscle and lower for fat than it might have been back then. OK, in many cases 265 pounds just "ain't what it used to be." .

Mons was noted for his dedication to lifting weights. His muscle/fat ratio was likely as good or better than many today but he was likely the exception back in the 60's. He was a legitimate NFL prospect until his neck injury finished his football career.
No doubt that today's players hit the weights and probably better than the old days, eat better and generally speaking, people are getting bigger and taller. Evolution?

Yes and if you have room for extra prayers, say one for Mark who is fighting the fight of his life health wise,
This week I sent him copies of the HC Magazine stories on “The Missing Season” and “The Fight Club” in which he was prominently featured in both.
