Didn't see much playing time, but had a very good HS career & played for a very good AAU program, the Maine Firecrackers. Could help fill a void at PG.

Should be noted that PC's starting PG went down very early in the season and they had their graduate assistant use her fifth year instead of playing McLaughlin.

Which explains why she is shipping up to Boston.

I wish the transferee from Friartown to B.U. well. It must feel great to wave goodbye to the coach who showed no confidence in her, move an hour closer to home, gain access to the BU School of Communications as a creative writing major, and have a real shot for significant playing time in a league that's up for grabs every year unlike the Big East.

Amazing that PC has to pay more for a head coach like that than HC pays for the two year reigning PL championship coach. I don't think you can improve a program by brooming a whole class. Reviewing Coach Erin Batth's bio, it has a striking resemblance to Brett Nelson's. They both had great playing careers in strong power conference programs, both played in Europe then both spent many years as assistant coaches before being named head coach and proceed to lose games and players. So glad HC hired experienced head coaches in Curran, Paulsen, Magarity and picked a good one with first time head coach Riga.

So glad HC hired experienced head coaches in Curran, Paulsen, Magarity and picked a good one with first time head coach Riga. The difference between being in the Big East and the Patriot League. PC is bringing in transfers from other programs to fill the gaps and have their own recruiting class coming in next year. None of the freshmen were what anyone would consider key contributors on a team that had at least five players on the season ending injury list. How would you react to the starting PG at Xavier transferring in and then the starting PG returning from an injury after starting 51 games (playing in 56) over the last three seasons? Are you going to see time on the court? Not likely.

Should the starting PG at 1-27 Xavier strike fear in competitors? Even the recovered former PC starting PG didn't pilot a winning team in her last full year. Coach Batth may build a winner by moving them in and moving them out, but I like the the four year, one school approach to build a sustained winning program.
Coaches don't look ahead and consider the negative effect a low retention rate has on new recruits and their families.

Batth is in her second season and I wouldn't think that her retention rate would hurt anyone yet. She has retained all the upperclassmen from the team outside that freshman class which she didn't recruit. Any player is going to se the writing on the wall when they bring in a PG recruit in Orlagh Gormley who is Baath's recruit. The players today in college basketball have the ability to transfer to find playing time when compared to 10 years ago when they would have to sit out for an entire season.

Someone has to score the points, and you can rest assured on a team w/that record, there was plenty of garbage time. Everything else you wrote I agree with.

I agree with the rights of student athletes to control where they go to school and to take the offer they feel is best for them. I just think the system works best for all when fewer players want to hit the road. The transfer in to BU is hopefully a win for all. Any upgrade in PL talent is a win for the league.

Rumor that N.C. State is pursuing BU’s Caitlin Weimar for her grad transfer year - that’s a big jump but can’t argue with experience and 6’4”

Despite her paltry freshman stats on a 5-25 team, looks like a positive pick-up. She started seven games so she could be ahead of our three rising sophs. On the other hand, HC was an NCAA team so don't count out our players before they get opportunities for consistent playing time.

Her sophmore stats were a bit better where she started 12 games. Whether she helps immediately is TBD, but size never hurts

Where is coach M ?? Our 24-25 roster shows 11 schollie players and one walkon (Griffin) from a team losing 4 starters - Absolutely disappointing with the silence - Let's hope they're working quietly behind the scenes to grab an impact player from the portal. The momentum from the fantastic finish to the 23-24 season will dissipate quickly if we don't take advantage of it NOW

Not aware of HC ever posting about a commit, only after signing. The Wright transfer wasn't posted until June. So, until a kid posts a commitment, were are unlikely to know. I hope they add at least one or 2 more, but ....
