At least there is movement. BTW do Jesuits still bar homoxsexuals from membership in the order? I still remember hearing that from one of our Jesuit instructors back in the 1960s that they did. I did wonder , since they all took a vows of chastity and celibacy, why it mattered who it might have been that they were not having sex with?

Google search: percent of Catholic clergy who are homosexual The percentages vary widely, one Jesuit says 50 percent. But across the range of estimates, it is no small percentage. Perhaps this step is Francis' way of addressing the incongruity of gay priests not being able to recognize gay partnerships. The larger issue is what to do about the declining numbers of priests. One of the 15 new Jesuits ordained in the U.S. in 2023 has as his first assignment, IIRC, to be a pastor to five parishes. The % of gay Priests should be dropping. Young men no longer need the Priesthood as their "beard." Unfortunately that reduces a major source of recruits, too.

No one encourage the Bishop to invite these guys to the Linden Lane Gate, please. Those bigoted Tradition Family Property guys have been to HC already. They came and marched around outside the gates after a bunch of snowflakes complained about Professor Liew.

That's power conference howling.🙂
