34-7 workman-like win for Buffalo.
Four in a row.
Big one at home next weekend against Toledo, who might be the best team in the MAC.

13,378 showed up in Amherst to watch the Bulls run over UMess. We drew nearly 500 more vs Yale and Buffalo drew 3k more for our game. Things might be turning a corner for UConn, but UMass is still UMess.

Buffalo, once down 27-10, have scored three TDs in the 4th to take a 31-27 lead.

Perhaps a Bulls win, if they can hang on now, will help our ranking by canceling out the Harvard loss.

The Buffalo win this year is looking more and more like our most "quality win" since Army in 1986. They are now 5-3 and could be bowl-bound.
Army '86 was 6-5...with wins ovah Syracuse and Tennessee and they were Commander-In-Chief winnahs that year.
The last team we beat at the FBS/University etc level with a winning record before Army in '86 was when we upset BC in 1977...without checking, I think they came into Fitton with a 6-4 record.

Watched most of Buffalo's game against Toledo yesterday; they have some really talented skill players. Cole Snyder, Rutgers transfer, is a good QB.
Toledo looked to be the class of the MAC this year.
Our win looks better and better.
Barring a total collapse, they're going bowling this year. Let's hope they do more than that though and win the MAC.

We had great pressure on Snyder in the 2nd half which neutralized those long TD passes. It's hard to compare stats since their competition is so different. Buffalo plays Fordham foe Ohio on Tues (why?) Nov 1.

Tuesday Night Football is a MAC tradition. What else is there to do in Akron or Muncie on a Tuesday night in November? Bowling league? I suppose this is a potential argument against the top tier FCS going FBS to Mac, Sunbelt, C-USA

After going down 24-3 to Ohio, Buffalo has it to 24-17 early in the 3rd.

Ohio gets a sweet 42 yard one handed reception and are now up 38-24 with 13:16 left in the fourth. If Ohio wins at least it will help Fordham’s bubble status. Ohio just recovered a fumble. Doesn't look good for the Bulls.

45-24 Bobcats now....think this is a done deal in Athens....helps Fordham and I gain a game on most of the field though I'm pretty far back in the pick 'em.
These must be such odd games for these kids...can't imagine going to class on Wednesday after either playing or watching these mid-week games.

Based on the crowd in the stands, I don't think too many Ohio students are worried about missing assignments or getting to class! I think we had over 1,000 more fans than Oho did last night. Box score read 16,000 souls assembled on a Tuesday night. Not surprised we outdrew the MAC anyway.

All PL teams would be overjoyed to have 16,000, including HC! Especially on a Tuesday. Our 18+ was the biggest in years.

Bulls up 24-7 at the half at CMU.
Still have a chance to finish at the top of the MAC East.

CMU Chippewas running wild. Not too many passing plays but their lead rb, Emmanuel Jr., already topped 200 yards in the 4th quarter.

Tough loss for the Bulls.
MAC East may be out of reach but Buffalo is bowling if they win 1 of 2 against Kent and Akron. Should be favored in both.

Can't believe this; they looked to be in control while I was watching in the first half. I watched most of the second half. There were a few real head-scratchers -- - Leading 24-14 early in the 3rd quarter, UB went for it on 4th and 3 from their own 37. Didn't convert. - Trailing 31-27 with about 6:00 left in the 4th and on 4th and 2 from their own 30, they elect to punt. Maybe the right move, but they also weren't stopping CMU all second half, so going for it may not have been out of the question. They end up taking not one, but two delay of game penalties. It almost looked like they were setting up for a fake the first time. - With a little more than a minute remaining and driving in CMU territory (3rd and 1 from the 24), they run into the line for no gain. Call a timeout. Coming out of the timeout they run the same play into the line -- turnover on downs. After putting up 24 points in the first half, they scored three points with 116 yards of total offense in the second.
