Going to be interesting to see where William and Mary is seeded. Tough to think they jump Samford. Two sites now giving love to Delaware and UC Davis. I think Idaho has a good shot at getting in. Just my thoughts, but I really don't want Fordham feeding into Worcester. UNH I'll take. I'd also rather not be feeding into Montana State unless we can get an upset prior. I don't like the matchup.

Spoke with the Fordham AD tonight. The NCAA committee visited their campus yesterday and led him to believe that pending a win today, Fordham could be confident in receiving a bid, but not at home. His guess was playing at UNH. He was given the indication that we will be seeded with a first round bye

The first round sites are supposed to go to the highest bidder. Maybe Coffey Field's limitations (capacity?) are such it has been eliminated from consideration whereas Fitton's limitations of being in a flood plain and having no lights didn't eliminate it last year. But what incentive does their opponent have to make a large bid now?

Sorry, this "flood plain" stuff is nonsense unless one expects heavy rain. As for lights, we've rented lights before for less important games. If it's necessary, I guarantee you Kit and Vince will find the funds. We can start a "Go Fund Me" if we need to.

If we were allowed to host a first round game last season, why not this one ?

One thing we’ve learned this year is that it is going to be extremely difficult to get a seed as a member of the PL. We played a tough schedule for an FCS team in the northeast, won all 11 games including a decent FBS team, the Ivy champ and the NEC runner-up, and we aren’t even a complete lock to get a seed heading into the selection show.

Problem is nationally a tough schedule in the Northeast is seen as weak. Ivies get no respect from NCAA committee. Nor should they. The league being an absolute dumpster fire doesn't help either.

And the field held up fine after the heavy rain before the Bryant game.

The national FCS people pay no attention to the Ivy. I’ve never once seen us beating the Ivy champ mentioned as a good win in any of these bracketology articles. They care about FBS wins and top 25 wins. And the Ivies don’t get ranked in the top 25 very often.

Yale in '68 before they "lost" to Harvard, 29-29; was #16...OVERALL.

I know! ^
You read Any Given Saturday's posters they give HC zero credit.
It seems everybody is thinking we get the 8 seed. That's unfair to 11-0

If we’re being honest, our second half of the season has been pretty unimpressive to the national FCS fan. We played close games against Bryant and Lafayette. The one decent team we played, we won by one in OT at home. If I’m an FCS fan in Fargo, I’m not impressed.

Defeating patsies (by larger and smaller margins) and pushed to the max by bubble-team Fordham. On another point, the committee shows plenty of respect to eastern football. IMHO. The CAA may have five selectees (and I’m not confident we can beat any of them at this point). The PL, and deservedly so, is poorly regarded.

The IVYs played 2 CAA schools this year - not saying it means anything.
Brown lost to @ URI 38-10 Dartmouth lost to UNH 14-0 @ Dartmouth
Brown and Dartmouth were the two weakest teams in the IVY league this year.

We may have to start targeting more CAA schools for the OOC and fewer NEC and Ivy. NEC and Ivy wins unlikely to help this time of year. At the same time, we’d also want to become more flexible with 5th years and transfers and get to max schollies.

Those games would all be toss-ups IMO. I think we'd be slight dogs against Richmond and about 10 point dogs against W&M.
