I see once again no one seems to be able to shoot for HC....

Wondering if KY is giving Rabinovich the red light from three? That was a surprise to be sure.

Way to many turnovers/offensive fouls
Good effort on D but I can't figure out what the defensive game plan is
If Rabs is our best big man I don't know

-Big sequence with Gates shooting 2 free throws with a chance to cut the lead to 3, misses both, then Siena goes on a 5-0 run and it's now a 10 point game -HC looks slow -Siena is playing physical defense getting right into HC player bodies and HC looks very uncomfortable with it -Ugly first 13 minutes of the season pretty much all the way around -These announcers are very good

Tight man/denial by Siena. AAU defense. We need to go back door or attack the rim and create plays or kick out and and make 3s.

-Absolutely brutal start -Where is Louth? -We need to get Kenny more involved on offense and Batchelder + Octave some space to shoot from the perimeter

HC WBB up 40-18. Hopefully the Siena Men are way better than the Merrimack women.

3 assists, 10 turnovers is not a winning formula.

Probably one of the bettah teams (in the upper half anyway) we'll see this year....so it wasn't awful imo.
They still don't seem to have an "identity"...maybe defensively as a ball-hawking M2M team, though we went zone late in the half....my concerns are at the offensive end right now.

-From the point where it was 20-15 with Gates to miss both FT's, Siena went on a 15-4 run to make it 35-19 -We allowed Siena to set the tone of the game, which is disappointing -Siena doing a much better job clogging up the paint on dribble drive, while we have been slow on help rotations to protect the rim several times. -I expected us to be more up-tempo, but we were not and we look slow. The last couple minutes were played at a much better pace IMO.

Listening to the halftime interview with Nelson, it seems like Siena is playing the style he described as wanting HC to play.

At least no foul trouble (yet) - only 2 each for Montgomery and Octave.

Nice run to start 2nd half, clawing back into it.
That was a huge problem last year: once they got down, they couldn't string together stops/hoops to get back into games. Down 10 was death.

-From the point where it was 20-15 with Gates to miss both FT's, Siena went on a 15-4 run to make it 35-19 ... And now HC on a 17-5 run with Octave at the line for 2. A much better, aggressive approach to get back in this one. Team looks much, much better.

Batchelder finally bags HC's first 3 of the season. Tough to compete without a consistent threat from beyond the arc.

What a halftime speech! Gates seems to be on track and Batchelder seems pretty fearless in pulling the trigger. Hopefully he can make a few more. He played at Governors on the North Shore. Great iq and shot. (Now mind you this is coming from a hockey, football, golf guy!)
