I am sure they are doing it for my young grandchildren who are off from school and a day game works out nicely for them as they have other things they do on the weekends and at night. You can go on the weekends and at night. Time for the young ones and the people who worked hard all their lives and fortunate to have a solid retirement. In case you never heard, after you retire, "every day is Saturday, except Sunday." I get it - I have 8 grandchildren myself - just wish they wouldn't have scheduled a league game. Please give us your estimate of attendance today.

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess the atmosphere won't be quite as stoked as that Friday night 9 pm game years back (wasn't that the Willard-Flannery nose to nose game?).

As a season ticket holder who has to work, it is really disappointing that they would schedule a league game today at 2 - especially against the team that has been a historical rival - (if rivals actually exist in the PL) I just can't understand why this was done. I think the predicted 400 number for attendance may be an exaggeration. Just a guess -- because classes aren't in session for HC or Bucknell and it's New Year's eve eve, an afternoon tip allows for Bucknell to get back to Lewisburg around 11:00pm, rather than 4:00am. There aren't going to be many people at the Hart for either an afternoon or evening tip, so what's the difference?

137, you aren’t actually predicting a Crusader win, are you?!!😳 I think it is possible, although I think Bucknell‘s height advantage in the middle could be decisive. A lot will depend on who makes their threes. Bucknell has actually been good in that category this season, ranking 45th in the nation. Pomeroy makes Bucknell a five point favorite. As a coach, Nathan Davis is lost in the final two minutes of a close game, so that at least means HC will not be at a disadvantage in the final minutes. Bucknell, per Ken Pomeroy, puts the 34th tallest team on the court in D-1. I don't know how we will try to handle Screen (7-1) and Timmerman (6-11) with 6-6 defenders.....

Could Lewis make a cameo ? He would look like a pinstripe on the back of Timmerman's (or Screen's, for that matter) uniform, but desperate times call for desperate measures.

Could Lewis make a cameo ? I hope so but r maybe even the 15 minutes that was suggested earlier. He does give away 70 or 80 pounds to the two Bucknell big men….

Regarding Lewis, he didn’t travel to SHU. Was he sick or something else?

Lewis is no longer listed on the roster. So we are now down to nine scholarship players, three of which are nothing more than stop-gaps (Tse, Wilbar, Kirkwood). What a joke this has all become.

Lewis is no longer listed on the roster. Well that is interesting and disappointing. Not a fan of quitting on the team mid season

He is not listed in the transfer portal-- maybe he went home for Christmas and decided not to return?? Naturally, nothing was reported from the team/school

He is not listed in the transfer portal-- maybe he went home for Christmas and decided not to return?? Naturally, nothing was reported from the team/school Sacred Heart was the first game after the end of the first semester. Not being at that game coupled with his removal from the roster suggests he left the team prior to the team going home for Christmas. As we all learned from Hargis and Lowder, since scholarships are for full years, even if you leave the team, you can stay at the school for the second semester. If the kid was smart enough to get in to HC, I assume he's smart enough not to walk away from a free semester lightly. I anticipate we'll see him around campus this coming semester. With the holidays and the administrative task of physically putting someone in the portal, is it possible the official portal is not perfectly up to date right now?

I totally couldn't believe it, but doubting Thomas that I am, I looked and, sure-a-shootin', Austin is no longer listed on the roster. Look for yourself: goholycross.com/sports/mens-basketball/rosterIn a way, if he quit, I couldn't blame him. This young man could shoot and moved well. Obviously not the build or strength of a Tim Clifford or Pat Whearty, but geez, our outside shooting is, politely speaking , "suspect" and the team results stink. If Nelson wasn't going to play him on a lousy team, it's sending him a message that "your services are no longer required." I can't stand athletes or politicians or business leaders with outsized egos but if you can't get decent minutes on this team and you stay, it kind sends the message that you have no ego. And that's just as bad. I can't say I'm "disappointed." I was past that point 2.5 year ago.

Well that is interesting and disappointing. Not a fan of quitting on the team mid season Are you sure he quit ? No. I am not sure. Based on the fact someone took the action of removing him from the on-line roster, I am ASSUMUING he is no longer on the team. In my mind that leaves only two options: he quit or he was kicked off. Barring some nefarious activity, I can't imagine why he would be kicked off.

This all brings back memories of Kyle Copeland who I knew a little bit. He quit the team, no reason given, but stayed like another 1.5-2 years and graduated. I never pressed him why he left but didn't believe it was a career-ending injury. He had a lot of promise as a player and if memory serves, actually got much more floor time than Austin . . . . . and on a better team.
Kyle in his junior year played in 7 games with 20.0 mpg, 4.9 ppg, 1.9 rpg and a 2/1 assist/turnover rate (10/5).

IIRC, they said at the time Copeland left the team because he was no longer physically capable of playing D-I basketball. There is an NCAA pool that picks up the tab for scholarship athletes (like Kyle) who get injured. I'm guessing he didn't have to pay to stay at HC his senior year
