If we are going to be going with this small lineup the rest of the year (not sure there is another alternative), Coach Nelson better spend a LOT of practice time on box out drills. Navy is not the tallest squad we are going to face in league play and yesterday they got offensive rebounds on an incredible 42% of their missed shots (18 of 43). I think a lot of that goes to HC still learning how to defend in the pressure m2m. They need to rotate sooner, they need to anticipate what will happen in every rotation. I think there is still quite a bit of thinking going on, rather than acting.. The more they play it, the better it will be.. Perhaps Short bench makes it difficult to sustain and improve. Tired legs impact performance

I realize there aren't a lot of minutes coming from the bench as of late but it's not like HC has no bench at all. Tse, Kirkwood and Kenney or Octave all seem capable to give the starters a blow now and then. Kenney or Octave are capable of providing major minutes off the bench. Tse and Kirkwood not as much although the latter seems to be taking on a bigger role in the last few games.

Don't disagree but if the starters get around 30 min/game after a few weeks the hits on the body start to take a toll
Let's just stay free of injury

Agree. Not only were two of the refs experienced, they were very solid, power 6, deep NCAA tourney refs. But they ARE Patriot League refs as seen by them WORKING a Patriot League game. They just needed a game probably on an off-day and the PL don't get Clark and Rutecki much because the other conferences pay more. Clark worked the St. John's at Seton Hall game on 12/31, UVM at UMBC on 1/1, and HC at Navy on 1/2. Rutecki worked St. Louis at St. Joe's on 12/31 and did not work on 1/1. Clark is on UConn at PC tonight. These guys work too much

I think someone speculated Coulibaly and Rabs might not be staying with the team, presumably off-campus during break, but they both made the trip to Navy.

I was the one speculating on that as a potential reason why Coulibaly was not on the bench for Bucknell. On the heels of Lewis quitting the team, there were concerns. It was a wild speculation, but seemed like a reasonable possibility why Coulibaly was missing but still on the roster (unlike Lewis who had been removed). I did notice Coulibaly in a huddle at the Navy game

Maybe I haven't been paying attention. When did Lewis quit the team? I assume because of lack of playing time?
