HC has to start by making foul shots! When George Blaney was running the ship in the Potter/Vicens/Doran/Perry era, as practice ended the players had to make ten foul-shots in a row before they could hit the showers. (Ronnie was done in no time, but Charlie Browne is still working on it - 45 + years later!) You mean he hasn't taken a shower in 45 years?

In early September in his freshman year Ed was shooting in the Fieldhouse (Rip). He started in one corner and gradually moved further out until he was out of bounds. Then he was on the adjoining court. Hitting consistently. Steph Curry range.

I saw him do that too. Imagine what his career scoring record would have been if they had the arc?
Also, his vertical leap was about 3” but he was a very good rebounder, partially because he was 6’7”. But mostly because, like Avery LaBarbara, he knew where the ball would end up and he’d be there.

Believe it or not the 1954 NIT champs were .641 from the charity stripe, not significantly better than the current team. Ron Sr. and Walt Suprunowicz the only regulars over 70%. Heinsohn was at 66%; after similar results his junior year, jacked it up to 76% his final season (Practice, practice; I'm sure).
79% for Tommy's pro career, so the best was still ahead.

This game has blowout loss for HC written all over it but hoping I'm wrong I have absolutely no idea which AU team will show up on a given day – the one that beat Colgate (and should have beaten them twice), Georgetown and GW on the road, and played Siena close to even, or the one that's gotten waxed by Lafayette and Bucknell at home.

Don't take this personally, NJJ, but I'm hoping for the latter I feel your pain. Following a jeckyll and hyde team can be frustrating

Dorsey wearing Lewis' old number. Guess we’ll have to hold off on putting it in the rafters.

Had the Army Navy game on for a few minutes before the HC game started.
Patrick Dorsey was wearing #3 today.
Perhaps there is some other reason/significance to the number change?

We have to do a better job guarding the back cuts. Especially off picks. And I would double the post ..

How can #15 (AU) complain about that foul ?

Now doubling the post, with positive results! Perhaps Coach Nelson was hoping to stay out of foul trouble, saving them for later.. He needed the pressure now, made the change…
