New coach has at least 8 scholarships to fill in his first year on the job. 3 can be filled in his first week on the job if he has guys he wants to bring in right away. Seems to me a tall order to bring in three quality recruits/players in the first week. If he's one of the D3 coaches I'm not sure we should be in a rush to take his D3 recruits as our best option. Maybe a good program D1 asst coach has a list of guys that didn't get offers who would follow. An up and coming D1 coach could have best shot at drafting behind recruits. But, I hope you're right.

He does not have to get 3 in a week. Many transfers last throughout the spring.

And I don’t think we are expecting that he will bring 3 players from his current team

Just set up an office at St. John's. You mean to grab St. John's players departing that Pitino doesn't want? After they used "failure to have his players make sufficient academic progress" as a justification for firing Coach Anderson with cause; I doubt anyone would fit the Holy Cross profile. Although, I guess if one or two did, it would actually make St. John's look bad for not paying Anderson what they owe him.

Although it took a week or more, very pleased Holy Cross appears to have reached a mutually agreeable separation agreement with Coach Nelson. I don't recall any hint of an academic issue with any player recruited or coached by the Nelson coaching staff. That's something. No anticipation of any BG-like lawsuit being filed either. Kit is coming off so far as polite, prudent and confidential. It's not hard to imagine a less diplomatic approach or looser lips blowing up this transition.

Paulsen seems to be the kind of person who could sit down with Bo and his family and point out the many benefits of completing what he is close to, at HC. It just seems to be such a waste to be 3/4 of the way there and walk away and I say that as someone who is ambivalent about him returning on the basketball front.

Richmond. The only school on that list that would be a home run for Bo from both a basketball and academic standpoint. I looked up Richmond's transfer policies. While not entirely clear, the examples Richmond uses for how many credit hours can be transferred in end with transfer applicants who have completed their sophomore year. Assuming he has made satisfactory academic progress at HC, perhaps he could shift majors, and in effect, repeat his HC junior year at Richmond.

A school that cares about sports will find ways to get kids in who will help them. If the Richmond coach wants Bo, they will figure out the academic piece.

I think it is common for high academic schools to require at least two years at the school to get a Bachelors. If Bo winds up at Richmond I would assume he would play for two years and graduate with his Bachelors Degree in spring of 2025

Bo stay at HC, get a bachelor's then go to Richmond for a Master's "It's so rational...Worcester County National" the song 🎵 in the commercials of the sponsor of the last Holy Cross hosted holiday tournament at the DCU Center. Your suggestion for Bo is so rational it leaps off the page. A five year bachelors degree in the age of instant information is not all it's cracked up to be.

The most popular major at Richmond is Business Administration and Management, 20+ percent of all majors. If the underlying reason for a transfer is to change your major, at Richmond or elsewhere, he'd probably have to repeat his junior year. He might even have to do a summer session.

It seems like he was never given a real chance at HC. I hope he does very well for his new team. In D1 games only, Lewis played 53 minutes in 40 games (not including the games this past season after he left the team). Curiously enough, 23 of his minutes in his career at HC came at Creighton.
