Will hiltonheadcrusader be in attendance? How about HC70? I bumped into former poster HC70 at Siena. He said he was going to Georgetown. He did not mention Carolina

I wonder if our old friend HC70 visits this board--I would bet that he does

For crying out loud, that's nearly 70 years ago we are talking about. While I am proud of our history, I don't use it to look down on opponents who lack that history...especially when at least one of them has a MUCH richer recent history than we do. Otherwise we might as well just spend our time watching the 1947 championship game on loop instead of watching the current team play. I wonder what the CCNY message board is like. Or the football thread on the U Chicago board. Somewhere there are a bunch of 88 year old San Francisco Dons that are furiously pounding the keyboard lamenting their omission from your post

Will hiltonheadcrusader be in attendance? How about HC70? Wasn't 70 a proponent of a round robin tournament like this? Or was it the "couplet" -- i.e. road games at Furman and Wofford over a long weekend?

Nick Johnson is the UNH transfer. Nathan Davis doesn't seem to be missing him. Cats are 2-1, lost to Syracuse by a respectable 11; destroyed their D3 patsy (Curry); beat Brown.

Some of the comments say stuff like "Nat Holman must be rolling in his grave", etc. Only being facetious. I did know they lost because my neighbor's son plays for Pratt.

Here's a few other interesting games this weekend: Bucknell vs. Duke, and Stonehil vs. Kentucky.

There's no championship game for this right, just the round robin?

How about the University of Seattle board? In 1952 the Chieftans (now Redhawks) beat the Harlem Globetrotters in a rare upset. They reached the NCAA D-1 tournament eleven times from 1953-1969, number one draft pick Elgin Baylor led them to the 1958 title game vs Kentucky, and from 1960-69 Seattle produced more NBA draft picks than any other school. How did they celebrate? By moving down to NAIA in 1980. They worked their way back through D-3, D-2 and finally D-1 in 2008, but the West Coast Conference wouldn't let them back in and several conferences turned them down as they played four seasons as an independent until the decimated WAC let them in in 2012 where they became the second longest tenured league member after three seasons. The Redhawks on-campus "arena" has a memorable capacity like the 13,909 at the old Boston Garden. It seats 999. But S.U. now plays at the Key Arena that holds 8,901. The good news is the Redhawks have put three consecutive winning seasons together.

What about the Carlisle Indians board. Army is playing Coastal Carolina on Saturday. What level was CCU playing at the weekend Jim Thorpe ran over Dwight Eisenhower like a freight train, breaking his leg?

Now you did it...get ready for the stream of posts reminiscing over Louis Sockalexis' time on Mt. St. James and the fact that Jim Thorpe can't hold a candle to him

My Catholic League Basically a rehash of the MAAC. I created a logo for the MCL on the old board. Will see if I can find it in the CHC8485 archives and repost

We are 1-2 vs Catholic Schools this season. Let's hear more about "MCL" Even an arrangement outside of league parameters such as Beanpot Hockey or Big Five BB among Catholic Schools merits consideration.

A little better. Down 14-10 at second media time out. Williams brought a little oomph to our game

Brutal start vs Winthrop. Down 10-1 at first media timeout. Paulsen was extremely animated in the huddle at the first timeout. Things have improved since then.

A few strange offensive foul calls against HC. HC trails 10-16 (after cutting the gap down to 1 point).
