I'm personally hoping he goes someone else next year. I think he can do better than JMU.

He could definitely do worse than JMU. A coach and system you know will make the transition easier and no worries about whether he’ll actually start.

Fair, but the safest option doesn't necessarily mean the best option.

I wonder if graduate studies play into this decision at all? Or is that just ridiculous?

"Hearing from" 38 is different than being offered. While we think he walks on water, and on an occasion walks on a sideline, Matt has proven himself an exceptional athlete that would likely succeed at any level. No question his comfort zone would be to go with BC to JMU. But I wouldn't be surprised if BC advised him to strike out on his own. Any experts out there that can tell us (me, anyway) what the timeframe might be that we would likely get an answer as to where he's going as well as our other transfer portal emigres?

He wouldn't return to the scene of the tragedy forty miles to the East, would he? I think JMU is a better opportunity. Curious whether Boston College is one of the 38?

Doesn't BC still have Castellanos? Yes, Sluka is better but by no means is their current guy someone they need to paper over for someone with 1 year available.

Best P4 school with near-guaranteed playing time. Not going to write anything on my hand but I think he will be P4 starting next year.

I see Matt going to some sort of P4 school like Nebraska, Northwestern etc. (I'm basically picking out schools at random)....to get a taste of the "big-time" (and NIL $)....not a G5 school, which in many ways is almost a lateral move from where HC has been playing under his helm.

Would be curious to know who Matt consults with on a decision like this beyond, obviously, his parents. Chesney? Dean? Smitty? His high school coach?
Unlike Jalen and CJ, he hasn’t said he will be in the NFL draft pool, did he? Maybe I have to go back to the first page? 😊

There was a rumor that ND was looking at Sluka - well, today it was announced that Riley Leonard of Duke is headed to South Bend. Leonard is also a combo qb who runs very well. I would suggest that Sluka's passing mechanics will hold him back when being considered by P4 schools (but I'll admit someone may give him that opportunity)

Any chance Matt's dream has always been to play for a Dan Curran coached football team???

Sorry, I think Matt can go to the P5 Raises an interesting question though...would you rather be with a middle/bottom of the pack P5, or a top of the pack/top 25 G4? You can make the same question from a coaching perspective...all things being equal I'd rather be where Chesney is than where the man he replaced is. Of course all things aren't equal and I suspect Cignetti is making significantly more money.

Sorry, I think Matt can go to the P5 Wherever he winds up, I hope he is the starter for the full season. Given the talent on these P5 rosters, I'd hate to see him have a bad first game and then quickly be replaced.

That is insane...I realize its the Big 10, but who cares about Indiana football? They haven't won a bowl game in 32 years. Am I wrong though, lets say its 677K (or 4.25M) at both schools...where do you want to coach?

Can Ward just declared for the draft which takes one of the top QBs off the board. No direct impact on Matt, but could help him out as teams shift gears
