IIRC, St Cecilia's won a state title in hoops under Lombardi. They played their games in the cafeteria on a lineoleum tile floor with a 12 foot ceiling...so no long bombs. I believe that is correct, yes....I know he coached multiple sports in HS

McCarthy stays in Dallas. And Bill goes to which of these bird franchises - Eagles or Falcons?

Hope it's Atlanta, the Eagles' nosedive reminded me very much of the Pats 2019 season. Talent in Philly has seen its better days and they have a pretty big payroll to boot.
Always thought if Brady was back in 2020 he'd have gotten killed.

Great analogy/comparison.....That 8-0 start may been the most deceptive start in all professional sports, not just the NFL.....and yess, Brady would have been killed in 2020.....one of the reasons he didn't come back......But he checked out a longtime before that

Bill Belichik arguably is the best coach out there. There have been head coaching vacancies. Yet, so far this great coach has been shut out. Is it a confluence of factors - Age? Ability to deal with current players? His need to control the whole operation? Is it the Brady effect? No doubt owners regularly talk. Has Kraft been talking on the phone to other team owners about the difficulty of working with Belichik? Why has Bill Belichik not been hired? What are the one or two factors keeping Bill off the coaching sideline? I think Bill is a good professional football coach but one who has a mediocre record w/out Brady.(Comparisons to earlier coaches are irrelevant.) Nonetheless, one would think one of the teams would have hired Belichik by now.

I also think he is unequivocally a great coach. If comparisons to earlier coaches are irrelevant, who has been a better coach during this tenure in the NFL, the past 30 years. How many "great" coaches are there?

How many "great" coaches are there? Sir, Bill Belichick is a fine coach. He needs no defense I respect your views but comparisons to past coaches are not relevant to the current scene at hand with Coach Belichick. IMO hiring Belichick is a no-brainer. I honestly would like to know the reason(s) he has not been hired. It's like musical chairs, the music stops and he's left standing with all the chairs taken by others. Obviously each team has its reasons. But is there an overriding theme? Why? Peace.

It tends to be crappy ones (which is why the old coach is fired). If you're starting a re-build, do you do it with a 70 year old guy. Not saying that is happening, but it could be a factor

The ability to make the right decisions in game is underrated.

The Bills too seemed to be a good fit. Chargers, too. I thought one pf these franchises & others would have jumped to bring BB on board.

Every NFL coaching vacancy has been filled & Bill Belichick is still on the sidelines , shut out of a head coaching position. Who woulda' thunk?

I can understand the "hot young coordinator" choice and Harbaugh...but, Quinn? Raheem Morris?
