Tonight’s 7:15 LSU v Iowa matchup is interesting in that Iowa’s starting five (minus Clark and maybe Steulke) is weaker than LSU but LSU has a pretty thin bench if there are foul issues.

LSU - IOWA, scintillating match-up. Caitlin incomparable scorer and passer. Angel's presence is not reflected in the box score. Still believe advantage LSU. Got the pop corn. Ready to watch.

I’m rooting for Iowa but it’s not going to be easy - Clark having a great game - 55-49 Iowa leads with 8 mins left in 3rd qtr

LSU imploded in the third quarter. Iowa up by 11 before the fourth quarter, but it's not over. Coach hints Iowa will take the air out of the ball now.

While Caitlin Clark detractors can certainly find fault with her game, she’s having a pretty good one now. LSU scores at will from down low and blocks and rebounds really well.

LSU did not score at will from down low tonight

LSU did not score at will from down low tonight LOL. The LSU coach literally said they were scoring at will down low during her half time interview. The problem is they lost patience with working v the smaller Iowa bigs…especially with CC bombing threes in the 3rd QTR and pulling away.

Clark carried the Hawkeyes with 41 pts and 12 dimes - amazing shooting range

Heard Women's Final Four tickets going for a higher price than tickets for the Men's Final Four. Is that true? Great to see the improvement & growth in the women's game. Will it translate to the WNBA?

Will it translate to the WNBA? Other than the Caitlin Clark factor, a major factor in driving the price of tickets is that the arena hosting the women’s finals seats a bit over 19,000 people, while the dome hosting the men’s event seats nearly 80,000.

UConn wins it 80-73 - amazing accomplishment considering 5 ‘rotation’ players out for the season - Beuckers with 28 pts/ 10 rebs. Clark vs. Beuckers in the 2nd semi Friday night

Taking a peek at the women's bracket, and how the teams got to where they are today. Quick quiz question: What was the closest scoring of the four #1 vs. #16 games? Everyone gets three guesses, but the first two don't count. One clue: The team that won that first-round game earned its Elite Eight spot over the weekend by beating its opponent (the #5 seed) by a wider margin than they won their first round (vs. #16) game. Bogus clue. Iowa beat us by 26 and beat Colorado by 21.

Could we be seeing a redux of 2022-23 FCS playoffs where our Crusaders were upended by the team that ran the table?

Which actually makes sense since the HC game was a 16-1 matchup. On the bright side and if that margin of 26 points is depressing, we did hold CC to 'just' 27 points. Well below her average and well below the 41 LSU gave up last night. UConn v Iowa matchup looks to be another case of Iowa's opponent having the better starters (minus Caitlin Clark). The way they are playing, I'm leaning UConn.

I was happy that from what I saw (and I pretty much saw the whole game), Iowa & LSU pretty much just played the damn game, not a lot of sideshow antics by either team.
Reese hurting her ankle might have tipped the scales to the Hawkeyes. More than a few of her shot attempts after that were a bit off balance. Up to that point, she was having a Walton-in-1973 type game, unstoppable.

The WNBA should try outdoor games at MLB parks when the home team is away. Set up a court in front of one of the dugouts so 10-20K can have great seats and toss the ball up. Close to city neighborhoods, accessible, fun. The indoor summer game has limitations.
Block off the dugout so nobody falls in.

The cost to do all of this wouldn't be made up in ticket sales and concessions.

I love UConn but I think Iowa will win this one.

Edwards is a better 5 than either Iowa player.
