Meghan Gebbia is the Wake coach and we know she came from AU- her coaching seat is pretty warm going into next season after a 2-16 ACC record this year and many outbound portal defections - I’m not sure Johns can help much in that league Hardest job in the ACC? So far only 1 into the portal for WF this season.

This year's team was better than last, IMHO. So tough to compare. In some respects, their regular season results from 21/22 was the most impressive as the PL was much stronger from top to bottom that season.

Three things seemed to happen that overlapped each other, Foreman's scoring implosion, Donnelly's injury and Wright emergence. Oddly enough, Foreman played much better in the back half of the season coming off the bench. Donnelly basically never saw the floor again after the Lehigh game (20 mins) in late January. To what extent the falloff in mins was due to a slow recovery and Callie's fine play is unknown to me.

I agree completely, yet also wonder if they try to get a scorer out of the portal

I expect significant increases from Berger, Foreman & especially Flannagan. IF I had to guess I'd say Munt, Cahalan & Donnelly are the most likely sources although I think Lewis may blossom. Bachmann had a decent 3 ball in HS, but was best know for her defense. It's a real mystery. Haven't had any opportunity to see either of the incoming frosh.

Kelly Harper dismissed at Tennessee after 5 years - winning isn’t good enough there, only getting far in the national tourney which she didn’t achieve - still trying to find the right successor to Pat Summit It will be interesting to see if Lawson leaves Duke for the job.

I am generally feeling pretty good that they are coming back if the have not declared for the portal by now. That could change, but hopwfully not.

Final UVM 65 - Colgate 55. Good game. I suspect if CU doesn't get hit by the portal bug will be the pre-season pick for the PL title next year.

Cahalan hasn't seemed as comfortable playing inside as similarly sized Berger is. That must be an eternal coaching challenge, players whose dimensions or skills indicate one position but whose inclination is to play another. On the other hand, we haven't seen that much of Cahalan and she may have rarely been in without either Allen or Berger also in. Any PL team with junior and senior 6'2" players who can move and have a total of five years experience with the same coach before the season begins, is in a strong position. Four seniors graduating, two incoming recruits. Can any math majors figure that out for us? They may be similar sized in one regard, but not the other. I still think Munt has potential as a scorer, but has not shown it yet. Hope this year's freshman class are later bloomers; haven't seen much from them so far. It's going to be interesting to see what type of offensive set they use next year. I do think both Berger & Meg are much more comfortable playing the high post & both are pretty good passers.

Munt in 23-24: 3 of 7 from 3 and 9 of 32 from 2pt range (.281) She, as well as many others have to work hard on their offense in the off-season I would certainly suggest to any player who wants to see significant court time next season, improve your 3 shooting. All of these kids have shown themselves either in HS or at this level to be good to very good defenders, but got to make 3s & need to make their open layups and put backs.

I agree, but maybe Munt instead of Cahalan, need someone to back up Berger. I won't be surprised if they try to add a shooter from the portal. Where is the offense going to come from? It will surely be a true test of MM's coaching ability. One thing is for sure, we will see a lot of different combinations on the floor next year, expect the incoming frosh & rising sophs to see a fair amount of court time early.

In fairness, until Togo took over in 1980, it was a shoestring budget. I don't believe they did much recruiting, started nearly ever season w/ tryouts. First scholarships were under Togo

After trolling through some ancient copies of the Crusader, the women's AD I believe was Diane Sepavich. Additional little know fact Dupre's successor was then undergrad at HC, Pat Corcoran. Fellow Jr Billy Griffiths was hired as ass't coach. Apparently this was at the suggestion of Ron Perry Sr.
