Now would be the time to schedule Villanova as a non-conference game.

Ohio State's Tate Martell is on the transfer portal. The Buckeyes owe us a player.

When was the last time Holy Cross football had a contributing transfer at ANY position? I’m thinking back to 2006 and not one individual comes to mind. We had 3 (2 fr Grambling - Chico Stewart and Dave Thompson - and one from an AZ Community College - Sammy Siaki).

Also - not sealed in TB that Duffner won't be back - or have chance:

In an (mostly) unrelated note about form HC coaches - Kevin Coyle is replacing Childress as head coach of the Atlanta team that Pujols is signed with. While it will have no real bearing on whether Pujols makes the team, you never know if there is a leg up given the HC connection with all other things are equal.

Duffner will be a LB coach in the league somewhere next season or soon thereafter if he wants to coach. They all know each other and they all have phones.

I believe this board may be the source. Nothing on Football Scoop yet.

God is on our side. He/She also allows us to use "there" correctly. Thank you very much for your input and taking time to correct me. Very god-like! “Let he who has not sinned cast the first stone. “ Please let me know if I made any mistake with my quote. Are all UNH fans this serious?

Impossible to be jealous of BC. I was fortunate enough to go to HC. Stop it! The jealousy on this board towards ND and BC is ridiculous. All you read is shots at these two power conference schools. It gets old. I understand loving Holy Cross but why is their the need to put one down to raise yourself up. In the big picture of college sports ND is the premier catholic institution and BC is not far behind. God is on our side. He/She also allows us to use "there" correctly.

Further proof that God is not on BC's side. Isn’t jealousy one of the 7 deadly sins🤔 Impossible to be jealous of BC. I was fortunate enough to go to HC.

joe - I was initially reading your post as choosing to play the IL champ in lieu of participation in the playoffs. I would be against same, but see that i read that wrong. I think a 12th game against IL's champ at the end of the season would be good, especially if it was against the Johnnies, presuming we were still playing in the playoffs with the autobid. I think the IL would have to start to a week earlier than they do now to permit the PL to do both Nerd Bowl and Playoffs. I would not want such bowl in lieu of the FBS OCC game. It would have to replace one of the other OOC games, presumably an IL game.

I think I would rather see us play in the national playoffs than the New England Nerd Bowl. Are people actually reading these posts? I'm not saying to replace the FCS with a "Nerd Bowl," which by the way is frankly offensive and trivializing way to describe the football players in the PL and IL. And by your criteria, virtually every game we play is a "Nerd Bowl." Go up to one of our players and call him a Nerd and see how that goes.
I don't want to argue though. Carry on.
1. I was obviously joking. 2. As a former player, I would not be offended in this context, nor would I be afraid to say nerd bowl to any player (past or present). 3. If I read your post correctly, you were stating that a nerd bowl b/t PL and IL champs at end of season is preferable to losing to NDSU, etc. I disagree. Playing the IL is important and should be included in our OOC schedule. We have lost enough good years trying to tie ourselves to the IL. Screw them. We should drop the AI and start winning some FCS championships.

The FCS playoffs for HC in 2009 is analogous to the 2016 PLC in hoops. What should have been turning points for both programs were, most assuredly, not. By the way, I'm not saying HC should boycott the FCS playoffs. It's just that, as realism said, most teams end up "waiting for the cows to come home," and even when the cows come home, they really don't. The FCS playoffs being a catalyst to PL recruiting just seems to be an empty promise made a couple of decades ago. IL and CAA are still winning the recruitment battle. Sorry if the truth hurts. How can anyone who has followed HC football closely think any different? And I've watched virtually every game for 25 years. Like all of us, I'd love to see HC become so powerful that it rolls through the PL, OOC, and makes deep cuts into the FCS every year but, c'mon, statistically and realistically speaking, with all the handicapping the PL does with schollie limits, roster size, and AI, in addition to the institutional castration by HC, plus FBS-caliber teams still playing FCS football, is this really going to happen? Give Coach Chesney a break and don't be unrealistic with where this program can go, otherwise everyone will be calling for his head in a few years. We need to be realistic about what we can do within a very difficult framework. I'd be happy with the auto-bid but at the same time I do think an end of year series between the PL and IL champs would be a lot of fun, and a win-win for both leagues. We can always pull out once we become the FCS juggernaut that some of us here think we're going to be, although I think most of us will be dead and buried by then. I see it as something to realistically look forward to with some regularity, perhaps after the BC hype wears off, as opposed to this epic jaunt through the FCS playoffs that seems less and less likely to happen the more the upper tier schools like NDSU distance themselves from the pack. I think I would rather see us play in the national playoffs than the New England Nerd Bowl.

HC recruiters (football and otherwise) should keep this tweet from Obama’s former speechwriter (and the comments that follow) at the ready when a student or his/her parents think HC might not be the right choice for them I would rather they didn't. We want our recruits to select HC freely and primarily, not as a result of rejection from any other school.

Large State Universities in Montana, NC, SD, etc. should be playing in FBS. They have 15K+ students and government funding. There is a reason they are at the top of FCS every year.

We had a policy for the last HC re dissemination of these emails. Maybe it is prudent to continue that policy unless Chesney has authorized the disclosure. Then again, the rules/conventions on this board are a little inequitably enforced.

This thread took a turn to the absurd. First we need to win the league (regardless of how good or bad being in the league may be), then win the in playoffs. Going to the playoffs is great and winning would be better. Until that time, everything else is noise.
