One comment on the LC board complained about Bucky chucking up 3s when ahead by 50

I can understand that reaction. It is uncomfortable to see that bad a walloping by any PL team of another PL team. However, how do you tell someone who seldom gets into a game that he should not try his best to score? What on earth happened to Lafayette's defense?

As I am (like Matt Damon's Brett Kavanaugh) a "keg is half full kind of guy," I figure HC wins out beating Colgate and American to get to 8-10. So, what are the final standings scenarios? Current standings (remaining games) RPI as of today Bucknell 12-4 (Army and Navy) 99 Lehigh 11-5 (American and Loyola) 84 Colgate 11-5 (HC and Laf) 109 American 8-8 (Lehigh and HC) 262 Army 7-9 (Loyola and Bucknell)229 Lafayette 7-9 (BU and Colgate) 257 HC 6-10 (Colgate and American) 190 BU 6-10 (Laf and Navy) 228 Loyola 6-10 (Army and Lehigh) 276 Navy 6-10 (Bucknell and BU) 258 Feel free to come up with your own wacky scenarios, but mine is easy. 1. HC wins out to go 8-10 2. American goes 0-2--not unreasonable at all playing us and Lehigh. They end up 8-10. 3 Army splits to go 8-10 (I would like them to lose two but I am trying to be at least a little reasonable here.) 4 Lafayette splits to go 8-10 5. BU goes 1-1 and ends up 7-11 6. Loyola and Navy go 0-2 and end up 6-12 Crusaders end up 4th based upon the RPI tie breaker and get a bye and a home game. EDIT: Ok, so I now realize that I misunderstood the tie breaker thing based upon something I read on another thread that has now been clarified there. I'll need to go back and work through the multi team tiebreaker between HC, American, Army, and Lafayette to see how it come out but now I am hungry so I'm not going to do that. Using your scenario, I think we'd win the tie-breaker, as, after a quick review (unaudited) of the other teams' schedules, I see HC, AU and AWP each at 3-3 against each other while LafU is 1-5 (if AU beats Lehigh and then loses to us, they'd be 3-3, but would also be 9-9, so they'd get the 4-seed). We'd be 3-3 against the top three seeds, and, again using your scenario, neither of the other three can get to that mark. Stranger things have happened. Let's WIN in Hamilton to keep things alive!

Perhaps a little of both and some motivation/inspiration from their last loss.

What on earth happened to Lafayette's defense? They're ranked 328th in EFG defense. They played to form.

The Lakers have again brought Andre Ingram up from their G League team in South Bay. He's on a 10-day contract starting today, and will be with the team tomorrow night in Chicago for their game with the Bulls.

Quite an accomplishment for the league given the fact that Adonal Foyle was the only PL alum ever to play in the NBA for eons. Unless you count David Robinson as an honorary PL alum. Navy was in the CAA during his time there.

Lehigh's Pat Andree and Caleb Bennett both are transferring out. Andree will graduate and go somewhere as a graduate transfer. It had earlier been reported that he had found a grad program at Lehigh and would return. Also not clear if Marques Wilson will be back. He missed the final nine weeks of the year due to academic and/or personal reasons.

This will certainly push Lehigh to the bottom of the league, already had heavy losses with Tejada and Leufroy. Interesting to see if Reed's able to do anything with the open scholarships at this late date.

Interesting to see if Reed's able to do anything with the open scholarships at this late date. I don't think the bottom, but I don't see them competing for a top spot. They do return a couple of good players and, as usual, appear to have a good recruiting class. But losing the four they have lost certainly figures to make them a lot weaker than this past season. Over the past eight years or so, LU has lost the following rotation players due to transfer: Anthony D'Orazio (grad.) Miles Simelton Shane Whitfield Brandon Alston (grad?) Tyler Jenkins Matt Holba Pat Andree (grad.) Caleb Bennett

Can Dr. Brett be far behind ? He has looked around a lot over the past few years, if various reports are accurate, but hasn't found a spot. With the way they underachieved this year, it can't help him. I think he may end up as a LU lifer. Very good recruiter but not such a good coach.

Someone on the Lehigh board did an interesting exercise, he compared preseason predictions to actual finishes over the last four years using a plus/minus system that for instance gives a third place prediction and fourth place finish a minus 1 for that year. Following is how each time fared over that period: Navy +13 Colgate +10 Bucknell + 4 Army +2 Lafayette and Loyola +1 American -1 Lehigh -3 HC -5 BU -6

While we continue to rid our site of trollage...
AU got a good 2020 commitment today: Colin Smalls, a rising senior CG from St. Andrew's (MD) Episcopal HS. Two-star by VC. Listed between 6 feet and 6-2, so let's say 6-1. Had listed offers from Stony Brook, Columbia, Robert Morris, UMass-Lowell and Lafayette, but big interest at the 11th hour from William and Mary, with Lehigh and several Ivies also pursuing. St. Andrews went 17-10 last season. Colin plays AAU for Team Durant in D.C. I think he'll step right in for Sa'eed after next season and be our point guard of the future.
