C'mon. It's rowing. Anyone can row. Lean forward Pull Back. Repeat. Stroke! Stroke! Stroke! No one said anything about rowing competitively!

Too bad Sarasota wasn't still around, he'd set you straight about rowing.

That's right. But he'd back me up because, according to him "having good water" was the most important thing for a rowing program.

Too bad Sarasota wasn't still around, he'd set you straight about rowing. That's usually the coxswain's job. And very important too. If no one sets you straight, you'll run ashore before the finish line

Clowning aside HC is lucky to have Quinsig A lake that looks like a river. Pretty much perfect for crew Imagine those poor slobs up in Colby who have to row on the Kennebec River

Must be a short season up there unless they do most of their work in the fall. When's the ice gone from the river?

For those outside of New England, the Kennebec River, which is near Colby, is where us locals go for white water rafting. Not particularly suitable for crew shells. Nowhere near as nice as our own Lake Quinsigamond.

Bill Carmody should do the right thing and go rowing on Lake Quinsigamond with Pete and Repeat.

I doubt the lake is navigable until Patriots Day either.

To those who want him to return, What would it take for you to say, Enough?
What?

To those who want him to return, What would it take for you to say, Enough? What? Well, since you asked - next year will mark the first year the team's Carmody recruited upperclassmen will have played the majority of the team's minutes (as opposed to underclassmen). Last time I checked (about 2 thirds of the way through the season) underclassmen had provided about 66% of the points/rebounds/assists, despite the heroics of JF. Next year will be the telling year, for me. You asked. By the way, I am on record as saying some changes are needed.

However, i wonder if at this time next year if we don’t reach that goal should Carmody finish out the following season with his 6 seniors.

We definitely don’t want any instability in the coaching staff when we hit the road to recruit a 6-person class. Though it may only be 5 if Niego redshirts.

If the twenty win benchmark is met and a significant hometown discount for the one year extension is negotiated to give HC a little more firepower to lure the transformative next coach, then maybe.

Everyone is expecting Christian to get axed, but every day he's there seems to indicate he's not leaving.

Even BC’s mentor the great Pete Carill left the college game when he was 66 years old. Unless you are coach K, Jim Boeheim, or Roy Williams, not sure you want a coach over 65 in the college game today

Bringing Carmody back is just kicking the can down the road, if we are being honest here. Rip the bandaid off and start over.

Last year the standard was finishing in the top 3 in the league and winning or at least getting to the final game in the tournament, we finished last in the league and now a good number of posters want to give Carmody another year makes no sense. Given his record to date I don't want Carmody anywhere near giving out 8 scholarships to the next two classes. That being said it looks like the most likely scenario is Carmody finishing out his contract then being replaced at the end of next year with the new coach being faced with the prospect of having to replace 50% of the roster in his first 6 months on the job.
