And because HC has, and hopefully will have for the foreseeable future, the best coach in the league

Biggest HC-Lehigh meeting since 1991, and what a game that was. Indeed! Will we see a fumblerooski on Saturday? (Probably not, as I believe it's outlawed.)
Highlight reel:

What a ballgame that was, the last real "road trip*" I went on that featured a HC win.
The highlights showed (but only an obstructed view) Cory (sp?) Vincent's interception and lateral for a TD. Then, later, when it looked like HC was going to win going away, a DL for Lehigh returned the favor.
A fumblerooski definitely can't happen any more on 4th down or on a 2 point conversion. Not sure otherwise.
* I went with a group to several games, and every time we went through CT we used to stop at a diner off Exit 10, Newtown, CT. First thing that flashed through my mind when I heard of that tragedy.

Looking at Lehigh's wins this year, they are not that impressive. They beat Merrimack by 7 at home. They beat Colgate by 1 yard. We buried Colgate They beat Gtown on a last second field goal. They beat Fordham in OT. Crushed by UC Davis and Villanova and they lost to ST Francis at home, By looking over their slate, they are not that good. Out of all the teams they beat, NONE ARE IN THE TOP 80 ACCORDING TO MASSEY. They are not a very talented football team, but kudos to Gilmore for making the most of what he has got.

A bit off on your analysis. Lehigh is very talented. The but is they are also very very young. Most of our 2 deep is frosh and sophs. That said Cross should be a slight favorite. Expect a nerve wracking close context. Gonna be a fun week for sure

I've watched most of the Lehigh games and they have very few weapons. Gilmore and his offensive staff have had to be very creative with formations and going back to smash mouth football to pull off wins the past few weeks. I am excited for HC and Lehigh, however, I still believe that the Patriot League in 2019 (as a whole) is the worst it's been in the last 30 years. Hopefully 2019 serves as a stepping stone for what is to come.

Hopefully 2019 serves as a stepping stone for what is to come. Power Running team? They've played better in recent weeks because Monaco and the OL have settled in against PL competition. As a result the passing attack has become more of a threat. They're hardly a power running team. Their strength on offense is the WR duo of Devon Bibbens who leads the team with 44 receptions 540 yards 4 TD and preseason All-PL selection Jorge Portorreal (37 receptions 453 yards and 1 TD). The RB situation has basically been by committee. Freshman Zaythan Hill has emerged the last two weeks. He set a PL record against Fordham with a 94 TD run. Hope is a little more versatile. He's a better pass catcher and can still run between the tackles. Defensively they've been pretty good. Although, Fordham and Zach Davis lit them up on the ground. Their DL is still undersized and can be pushed around by physical offensive lines. The secondary is prone to give up the big play.

“Prone to give up the big play” sounds good as HC may have the deepest corps of big play threats it has ever had

Mountain Hawks received one vote this week in the FCS STATS top 25 poll - who was that voter ? (our league has been basically absent from either of the top 25 polls all year - sad) If we win on Saturday we should be the one picking up a few votes next week

No one in the PL has any business sniffing the Top 25 this year, barring a playoff win by whoever wins the league.
While I would undoubtedly rate HC higher than Lehigh at the moment, the Mountain Hawks certainly have the inside track to the league title. With a win Saturday, they would be 4-0 and we would need them to lose to both Bucknell and Lafayette in order to overtake them for the auto-bid. AND we would have to beat Georgetown and Fordham in the process, neither of which will be easy games.

I kind of beg to differ regarding the Top 25. Not saying HC definitely belongs there, but locally both Albany and CCSU are in most recent Top 25 polls....neither of whom I think are significantly better than HC this year.
In the FCS this and most years it seems, you have about 4 or 5 real dominant teams. Then around 10-15 below that...the next 15-40 top teams in the country are all pretty close imo.

/\ True, but at this point in the season it is pretty hard to move up much given the low rankings of our remaining opponents (and this goes for the rest of the PL also).
(I know the performance of teams we have beaten also helps us to move up but I don't see much going on there.)

We see some changes in the Two-Deep for the offense
Center Colgate Game: Olsofka & Daurelle Lehigh Game: Daurell & Olsofka
Wide Receiver: Colgate: Ayeni & Kennedy Lehigh: Ayeni & Jewell
Wide Receiver Colgate: Gilliam & Asante Lehigh: Gilliam & Roberts
Wide Receiver Colgate: Thomas & Jewell Lehigh: Asante & Kennedy
Wide Receiver, net change Asante moves from second team to starter Thomas was a starter but now is not on the two-deep Roberts was not on two deep, but now is on second team

The gravity of this game is lost on the underclassmen
Chance to start 3-0 in the league Revenge for the juniors and seniors against their former coaches A must win for PLC dreams to stay alive
One can only hope freshman and sophomores can understand the situation and acquire the feelings of passion from the upperclassmen
If that happens Saders by a million

Personally (and from a distance, to be sure) the freshmen and sophomores seem to be carrying their share of the load so far.
