Looks like a game at noon on Dec 3rd. When do tickets go on sale? Ticket presale for the second-round game will open for Holy Cross football season ticket members on Monday, Nov. 21 at 10 a.m. Tickets will go on sale for the general public beginning at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 23. Will tailgating lots be open if it’s a dry day?

If you want to compete on the national level the Patriot League is not your friend. The fact that a 9-2 Fordham team was a bubble team should tell you all you need to know. Awful league + No respect nationally = 11-0 Eight Seed. The PL has 2/7 of the league competing on a national level. URI plays in the CAA and hosted Albany yesterday for a crucial game to stay on the bubble. Under sunny skies 3603 flooded into Meade Stadium for a win or definitely go home game. (They won but went home anyway because their league prestige did not get them into the tournament at 7-4) if HC moved to the CAA would attendance at our crucial games like against Fordham this year fall to 3603 from the 17,592 who attended the Fordham game?

Agree with most but disagree with the CAA prestige part. CAA had 4 teams in and the 5th was between URI and Delaware. Delaware, although fading at season's end, defeated Navy and URI so they got in. The CAA was not going to have 6 teams invited, but getting 5 invites was nothing to sneeze at.

Yesterday I read the UNH-Maine game story in the Manchester Union Leader online. The Union Leader is the largest newspaper in New Hampshire. UNH is the flagship State University. The game was crucial for UNH to win a share of the league title and to get an at large bid. It was a thriller OT win against ancient rival Maine.
But the byline of the game story said "staff report" meaning they didn't send a sportswriter a state away or even hire a local correspondent, they just watched the stream from home or office. They had a photo with the story by a U.L. photographer but it was from a game in October in Durham.
I'm just going over this to say that joining the CAA if they would take us would not catapault HC into some kind of big time. The benefits would be marginal, (this year we could have easily been playing in the first round without a seed or bye if we were in the CAA and didn't run the table) the risk real and the disruption significant.

Re: losing local support because we are in the PL. would the old fans from Worcester, and new fans as well, think of UNH, Richmond, URI, Delaware et al any differently than they view Lehigh, Lafayette, Colgate, et al? Isn’t the issue that HC is no longer in the highest division? Since we are no longer playing Syracuse, bc, Temple, Rutgers, do fans differentiate between Maine and Bucknell?

CAA literally just added 4 all sports schools last year and HC wasn't in the discussion. And we could've been if we were interested. But TPTB are not, so window missed. Absent an invite to the A-10 we're committed to Patriot League athletics. Embrace it. Get used to it.

Not willing to accept it. These are new times and anything is possible, even if tough to achieve
i would be willing to bet the Pa group/PL owners would welcome the departure of Holy Cross and Fordham from football and replace us with two schools they can beat.

UNH charging $30 for the first round game. What will HC charge for the second round? The 30.00 is for general admission seats. Loge Box Seats are 55.00 and tickets for the Victory Club are 110.00.

The time was last winter. And Holy Cross didnt even give a "hachu" to the idea of joining the CAA, who was very open that it was looking to add several new members. Could've happened. Didn't. Ship sailed. It is what it is. Best all-sports bet for HC at this point -- get talks going with current A-East members UNH, Maine, Bryant and Albany regarding America East Football and leverage Men's Hockey East membership. Merrimack, SHU and HC to AE in all sports -- boom 7 all sports members. Then you bring in Fordham and URI as football associates with a seat warm for UMASS.

mea culpa (any altar boys out there?). Yes, at UNH, not Fordham. Never try scratching out information as announced when you can get an official printed bracket.
Foley, will either team pick you for official photos? Or possibly simply freelance?
