Wow. NDSU at 3? Thought for sure Montana State would be 3. How about SDSU over Sac State. Still home through semis but they aren't respecting Sac State's undefeated season. How about ours?

Why 8? Give us 7 and the quarter matchup vs Sac State. Now SDSU? Darn it. Let's hope we win first and SDSU is upset in the 2nd round. With Sac State 11-0 and HC 11-0 they did not choose undefeated records as a major criteria. Wish Sac State was #1 if we had to be #8. Like our chances vs their offense more than the likes of Fordham and UIW.
A seed is great but we want to be striving for a top 4 seed. Considering we went 11-0, it is very clear and apparent the PL is holding us back. CAA or bust.

We're #8.
So we'll play either #9 or #24; whoever they turn out to be.
No way UNH is #9, I'd think Fordham is still in play at #24.

Delaware in. Not a joke.
We won't know who got the short end of the stick until we see the last 8 teams.

GO WILDCATS. I think William and Mary might have gotten a nice gift with the Gardner-Webb and East Kentucky matchup. Tough but not like an OVC or MVFC match. I am not sure the polls matter much based on what I am seeing.

Creating this thread to collect the discussion of the playoff - selection, seeding and non-HC games now that the playoffs are being set.

Hate this bracket. Potential of playing a conference rival in Round 2 is ridiculous. Then getting No. 1 team in following round is rough. Selection Committee did HC no favors.
Only one thing left to do now:

Bucknell AD on committee. Is it same guy who didn’t allow HC parents to attend league championship game? If true, then the Bucknell AD has short-changed his own league. Separating HC and Fordham would allow league more bites at the apple to advance in tournament (and get more league exposure). Instead, it’s guaranteed that no more than one PL team will go to FCS quarterfinals.

5 CAA teams and guessing URI (a 6th) didn’t miss by much.

5 CAA teams in. With Fordham and HC together it seems as though the PL has really only 1 bid. Prestige and reputation with Delaware and Montana getting in and NDSU getting a 3 seed matter more than records or rankings. To me, moral victories and platitudes do not matter. The #8 seed is a sign of disrespect and an indication that Holy Cross must leave the PL in order to get a top 4 seed and a legit shot at a natty.

No love for Mercer or Chattanooga but they put Furman in and gave Samford a good seed. To me that does not make sense either Samford gets 6-8 with only Furman and Samford or they get 4-5 with at least one more SoCon team in.
Still bothers me that UIW has a non-counter win and lousy strength of schedule (William and Mary is no better than UIW in the 50s). So we are undefeated with a not so different SoS and a now ranked win and 10 fcs wins, 1 fbs win. Two Catholic schools seeded 7 and 8. Coincidence?

Close games down the stretch vs. Lafayette and Bryant didn’t help our chances of getting a #6 or #7 seed. Good learning experience that decisive wins matter and a failure to dominate games against inferior opponents does matter.
