I don't want him to go, but I will feel kind of offended if they don't go with him. Coach Chesney is a star. We're lucky to have him (and I hope he feels the same way about being at HC). Syracuse would be lucky to get him.

He's going to SU......simply can't pass up that $$$....it is what it is but the HC football job is bigger than Bob Chesney

Ray-Bans has done a nice job at HC....but it's not unprecendated...HC has always been a fantastic job at the !-AA level if used wisely....we'll be fine if he goes elsewhere...if he moves somewhere else, good for him....we'll be fine.
Not to be hard-core....but if he leaves us....que sera, sera

The media attention HC has gotten has been great. I would put him 2nd all time behind Dr Eddie Anderson. I hope I am not being a prisoner of the moment. I love history Cleo O Donnell. Duffner won a lot. What a good debate to have.

The HC teams of the mid/late 80s and early 90s would have gone to the playoffs if the league allowed...the whole era of of HC non-scholarship football teams from 1992 to about 2015 should be discounted,

‘Cuse faithful see recruiting as their single greatest roadblock to success. (Not saying they’re wrong.)
Fran Brown has recruited very successfully at a very high level. Most recently landing four and five stars at University of Georgia. (Not saying this would translate to Syracuse.)
In that very particular way, he’s the perfect candidate. (Not saying he has the requisite coaching experience I’d look for in a ACC head coach hire).
I think Syracuse should hire him as head coach.👍

Kind of a relief BC is not a FBS OC/DC candidate and hopefully this wraps up his FBS HC interest for the year.

Think of the number of times the names Holy Cross, Holy Cross Football and Bob Chesney have been displayed for public consumption and review over these last 5-7 days. You might be able to buy this sort of positive exposure but it would cost an exorbitant sum.
Assuming that the news shared by our esteemed colleague and great Crusader football44 is accurate, the Mission in re 'commitment to excellence in winning on and off the field' goes forward. If Coach Chesney were to be moving on, the Mission still and always goes forward. Let's never lose sight of who and what we are and what we are trying to accomplish. HCFB and Alma Mater are about a lot more than winning football games. The winning is incredibly important but it is a byproduct to the commitment. That commitment is the consummate team effort. BC himself knows that. Let's redouble our support of BC, HCFB and Alma Mater.
Start today by making a gift to HCFB on Giving Tuesday: give.holycross.edu/giving-tuesday-2023/?a=7239198
Today and everyday is a great day to be a Crusader.
We take a back seat to nobody.
Let's Win and further embrace and elevate our Mission: 'commitment to excellence in winning on and off the field.'

Lets savor the coach while we have him. You do not get to be successful in athletics without constantly wanting to succeed against the best...the FBS lure will always be there. Frankly its probably a bad thing for HC football if he doesn't leave soon as that means FBS lost interest in him for one reason or another. He's done an amazing job and been an amazing ambassador for our school and football program, but he has also earned the right to look onward and upward.
