Disappointed no interview with CDP after the game - would like to have heard from him but then again, this is HC and we don't always act like a serious D.1 program If I'm wrong about this maybe someone can direct me to his post-game comments Sarah Kirkpatrick handles football. Coverage is pretty good with the weekly Chesney "all access" video, feature piece on a senior, post-game content and highlights, etc. Charles Bare handles men's basketball. We haven't gotten much here over the years.

That's part of the problem. With games against Siena, Northeastern, Campbell, Marist, Delaware, Cornell, and Brown, one would hope there'd be more than one win here. The league looks to be very, very down this season. Seven of the ten teams ranked 300+. Good news is that there's no reason we can't be very competitive in-league this season.

Looking ahead to this weekend's games, the following teams need to win to stay "alive" for an at-large -- Illinois State (vs. Murray State) William & Mary at Hampton (loser goes home, as both teams are 5-4) Rhode Island (vs. North Carolina A&T) Elon (at Richmond) Gardner-Webb (at Tennessee Tech) Abilene Christian (vs. Tarleton State) Nicholls (vs. Lamar) UC Davis (at Idaho State) I think you can add Holy Cross at Army. If we lose Saturday, a win over GU the following week won't get us an at-large, only an autobid if Laffy falters. We aren't doing resume analysis here. Just playoff eliminator. Unable to reach seven D1 wins = bye bye.

Need to take this with a grain of salt. This outlet has Incarnate Word as a seed. They are likely not even a playoff team. Should Nicholls win out, they win the Southland. If UIW wins their final game against Houston Christian, they will be 9-2...but one of those wins is by forfeit over Northwestern State and another win is against non-D1 North American University.

1-9 start for the league. Not great.

In a weird way, feels like we gave that game away after looking like we had no business in even having a chance.
Very encouraging.
Bo Williams Nugent Octave Louth
The five that got us there.
Interesting to see if this is who HCDP likes down the stretch going forward or if this was the group he was riding tonight.

Happy for Joe. Seemed like a nice kid when he was at HC. Glad he’s found success in his home state.

If they win out, they'll be considered. 8-3 out of the PL with an FBS win versus a 7-4 CAA team is what it could come down to. At very least, they'll have a chance. Unfortunately for them (but fortunately for us), if they beat Lafayette it will be less of a quality win than it would have otherwise been had they not blown it against Colgate. My point was that the pollsters in these two polls are already considering the quality of their wins and that includes the FBS win - relative to other FCS teams (including CAA). And they are off both lists. I took into consideration your second point. Don't see them climbing back. We're a one-bid league and this year won't be the exception that proves the rule. The PL gets an at-large bid once every four or five years, so not entirely true. HC at 8-3 gets an at-large, assuming Lafayette gets the auto bid.

A VERY slight hint we might be able to see Matt & Jake back for West Point. (fingers crossed!). I’m still holding my breath for Jarmo to potentially return these final 2 weeks. Probably weighing trade-offs of the med redshirt at this point. Will be very interesting to see who takes the field on Saturday. I’ll be there in person for the first time this year! Hopefully reliving some of the magic of the 2002 game. Big reason we won that day, as you well know, was winning the turnover battle. We were among the best teams in the country last year in turnover margin. This year, we are -2 in turnovers. To win on Saturday, I think we've got to -- at the very least -- be net positive in the turnover battle.

Could be. And for all we know, Chesney and Kennedy wanted extra time to install some packages with JP and Sluka on the field at the same time. That pairing would be surprising to me. Matt is a great running QB, better when the pass option breaks down. QB is a very different position from RB. Yes...but when Sluka is on the field, all eyes go towards him. If nothing else, he's a distraction and something else to worry about.

I wouldn't be surprised if holding Sluka out was at least partially gamesmanship, with the main reason still being getting him healthy. Could be. And for all we know, Chesney and Kennedy wanted extra time to install some packages with JP and Sluka on the field at the same time.

I agree that we can rule a bunch of these teams out already, Midwest. This is just another way to visually whittle the teams down further by officially eliminating them, and then really study resumes to eliminate further from there.

I would have to go with Khalif Raymond until further notice. Khalif's early years were kind of a dead period for HC QBs. He did have a developing Peter Pujals getting him the ball later in his career. Ari Confesor may be un the conversation. I never saw him play but most on this board have and several played with him. My top 5 since I've been around (2006 season): 1) Khalif Raymond 2) Jalen Coker 3) Brendan Flaherty 4) Brett McDermott 5) Ayir Asante Honorable Mention: Mike Fess, Ryan Maher If I'm egregiously omitting or forgetting anyone, feel free to chime in. If we are only evaluating college career and ignoring professional experience, I don’t believe Kalif cracks top five. I can think of a number of guys who were more successful at HC than him.

I didn’t realize just how crazy JP’s arm strength is.
Look at where he released the second touchdown pass to Coker.
From the HC 40 into the endzone. 60+ yards and off his back foot to boot.

Patriot Lafayette Fordham Holy Cross Why is HC listed as #3 when they are now first in the league at 4-1? Lafgayette is 3-1 and Fordham has 2 losses. There is no significance to the order the teams are listed.
