Alabama and HC almost did have a home&home in the early 1980s....I kid you not. Game would probably have been at Schaefer....we declined and BC took the series. We take our HC football and hoop seriously here but most of us are pretty good guys....except maybe for HC92 and his bratty kids. I respect taking it seriously but some folks wow a bit over the top in my humble opinion but I'm the outsider even though I am Catholic.

I'm not sure why the comment about mediocre competition. UNH was picked to finish 3rd in America East and has played two Big East Teams very tough. I believe Holy Cross was picked 9th in the PL but I could be wrong. It's the one thing I don't get about this board the putting down of your opponents like Holy Cross is so much better than them and how could they possible lose to these schools. I understand loving your school but how about a little human decency and respecting every opponent on your schedule. Now some people on this board do that but so many are arrogant and full of it talking down any opponent that isn't from a P5. Come on be a better fan. We coulda been in the Big East ya' know...... Oh don't I know and I think you have some football fans that want Nick Saban to come to Fitton Field with his Tide football team for a game

It is so hard for me to understand how anyone, even a diehard Crusader hoop fan, can watch this team perform and still hold out hope that given more time Nelson will turn this program into a winner. Really? Are you watching the same games I am? There is a major problem here. We aren’t losing by a few points and showing improvement each game. We are getting embarrassed by very mediocre competition. I can’t figure out yet if the problem is the talent or the coach….or both. The CCSU game may provide some more clarity. They are the weakest remaining team on our schedule. Another poor performance and even the most pessimistic projected win totals for the season should probably be adjusted down. Wish UNH the best going forward. They have traditionally been a great program, and I hope they return to that level. Have some nice wins this season and seem poised to return to their high level of play. Good luck tomorrow against Oregon State! Thank you. We've seen a huge change in the hockey program from the time that admissions began to hold the hockey players to the same standards as all of the other sports programs at UNH since than the results have not been what they once were. Hopefully Souza is figuring out which players he can get admitted to UNH and beginning to bring the program back to where it once was.

Nothing wrong with hanging with a Hockey East team on their home ice. As someone said this is not a vintage UNH team but we do have some decent wins over Providence, Umass, and last night over number 10 Harvard. Hanging with a Hockey East team no matter what their record is should be look at in a favorable light. Best of luck the rest of the way and in the Atlantic Hockey League season.

Just got back in from the game and your team played hard and hit some threes which kept them in it and made the score more respectable. I was surprised with the lack of physical size for Holy Cross, it seemed that UNH players looked to be more physical. I know a lot of you love your Cross and I hope they do well in the PL. Best of luck the rest of the way.

Upper right has to be Gerrale Gates I wonder if Coach Chesney might offer Gates a spot on the football team.

I guess you have not noticed All are vulnerable While just about all can contract it, the overwhelming majority will not be affected by this for more than a week or two. I’m just following the science and data here and going by what the numbers tell me. This sounds like a quote from a powerful person who just got the virus but has refused to wear a mask and has mocked the scientist saying it’s no big deal🤦🏼♂️ Here is the exact quote from ten days ago “ It Affects Virtually Nobody.” 🤦🏼♂️😳🤦🏼♂️

A not unexpected announcement: /photo/1 Yes no surprise in Wildcat Country the only question is who were the finalists. All I've been able to find out is that she nailed her interview but nothing on who the other finalists were. I heard a rumor that Ann applied for the job but haven't been able to confirm that. In all honesty it most likely came down to money in terms of hiring Kelsey I don't think in this current situation they would pay her the same as Maureen but I do think she is qualified for the job. One of the reasons Maureen left as she had one year left on her contract but with the financial hardships UNH is facing due to the current global pandemic she decided to see what else was out there.

I read one idea which I liked that suggested the first and second place team from each conference gets an automatic bid which would help make sure that you have representatives of the non power schools and would really make the regular season meaningful in these crazy times.

New Hampshire still saying they plan on playing fall sports which I can't see happening as every college in NH has postponed. Is that the plan for MA schools to play fall athletics? Main difference between HS and college is that high school road trips are mostly under an hour wheres most college road trips (even those that don't involve flights) are 2+ hours and require an overnight stay. The best thing HS can try and do is have condensed seasons and skip postseason play. That way, even with a late start you can still fit in fall, winter and spring sports. New York hit a record low number of hospitalizations yesterday since the pandemic started and had 5 deaths in the entire state Friday. IMO, there's no reason school shouldn't start up on time HERE and that sports shouldn't be able to resume by the end of September. I'm not advocating grandma sit in the bleachers but I think an academic return to normalcy will work out just fine here. Not speaking for MA and NH, of course as I haven't been looking at the data in those states. www.nytimes.com/2020/07/18/health/coronavirus-children-schools.html?smid=fb-nytimes&smtyp=cur&fbclid=IwAR03GnHGnwr-VRkNRdwM4dCxltJx_LyAtFs24k1lP7JFpbuDOFCOku3CRPwAs we learn more about the virus I think it points more to starting remotely and cancelling sports.

Just to clarify, many of the reporst say that the CAA canceled only conference games. According to those reports, teams are allowed to play OOC games and book replacement games, should they choose to do so. We'll see what they say when the official announcement is made - but right now JMU and possibly others are seeking to book new games. While that is correct the America East is expected to announce no later than Monday that they are not playing fall sports which means I can't see UNH, Maine, SBU, Albany playing football while the other fall sports are not playing. I think the best hope is we have fall sports in the spring but when I see numbers like a approximately 1/3 rd of children tested in Florida have been positive and as schools open up I'm afraid we'll see a spike even in New England. I think in reality we try to get this pandemic under control this year and sports return in the fall of 2021. Hopefully!

I’m sure they’ll try to play in the spring but it will be up to the virus whether spring games happen or not.

Florida...over 290,000 cases, over 4400 deaths. Sounds bad Agreed a reason I cancelled my vacation to my condo down in Florida. I have a friend who lives in Spring Hill and he says it's a mess down there.

Cousy is spot on about what has happened to Dr. Fauci. He’s a brilliant and honest man. It's unexplainable how he is being made a scapegoat for the failure of others.

Obviously, all of us on this board are very saddened to finally learn that there will be no Holy Cross football or this fall. It sucks. It is important to point out, however, that this has been a particularly difficult situation to bring under control. Over 3,000 medical professionals have died taking care of people afflicted with COVID 19. Although we have only 4% of the world's population, we lead the world in infections and deaths by a large margin. There is nothing on the horizon to inspire confidence that intercollegiate athletics can be undertaken safely at this time, in fact, just the opposite is happening. Well said sir!

One would think if HE wanted Holy Cross as the 12 th team that it would be done by now. Maybe though because of the pandemic and new commish it hasn’t been announced. www.google.com/amp/s/www.boston.com/sports/college-sports/2020/06/08/hockey-east-commissioner-steve-metcalf/ampI’m sure someone posted that article on here but I thought I would post it just in case. The highlights are HE is in no rush to add a 2 team and they want a school that would bring some value and geography is important. It appears they learned from their mistake of adding ND who began complaining the minute after they joined due to the travel.
