Looks like we will be in our classic purple helmets with white jerseys and white pants. With Yale in white pants, I wish we had gone with purple! I like to see who is diving on those Yale fumbles!

Army bounces back with PA pass and a little HB option pass for 55 yards. Grabs 2 score lead.

My lawd. An HC style Hail Mary for UTSA at the half. Heck of a catch. Under review but looks like he made it in.

Watching Army/UTSA. Army will be tough. New offense - like a wing-t, but out of the shotgun . the Army run D looks very, very soft. Line doesn't look that different than HC. I can see a higher scoring running game in that matchup

Army up 14-0 at UTSA start of 2. Good pushes from their o-line and running the ball really well. Their own run D seems a bit susceptible and the Roadrunners finding their groove going into the 2nd.

fillfittonfield, I want to try what you have been smoking! That would be a lot of fun! I'm in on that new league! Perhaps a couple other New England schools would join.

On Massey's matchup tool, although we are favored slightly by one (virtual toss-up), we "lose" a 7 game series 4 games to 3 with some pretty high scoring affairs. I guess that is why games are not played on paper or by computers and are a single game! Good luck and safe travels to all attending in person. When I just think about getting tackled on the astro-turf of the 70s at places like the Vet in Philly, I instantly get a headache and a rash. Walked on Nickerson Field when HC played BU in '91. It was like being on a patio with a very old all weather rug covering it. I believe it wasn't replaced for another 10 years. High schools still played Super Bowls there even after BU dropped football, a very dangerous disgrace. They don't any more because the new field was never lined for football. As a baseball catcher, I never minded playing on Astroturf since I was always on dirt! When I was in high school we had one school that had the rock hard astroturf a la Nickerson for both baseball and football. Boy those line drives would just take off and shoot into the gap. One time the opposing punter pulled off a near impossible feat. Kicking from his own endzone, he hit a line drive punt that was nearly a touchback it rolled so bloody far on the astroturf.

They are massive with lots of experience and seniority. Ches saying talent comparable to BC and I don’t think it’s much hyperbole. This is going to take EVERYTHING we got. HAVE TO WIN THE TURNOVER BATTLE. Even being -1 in takeaways could lead to some long faces on Saturday afternoon/evening. Their O-line is huge! I am not sure on agility, etc., but I am looking forward to watching the trenches tomorrow. I remember reading somewhere about 20-something 5th year players on Yale, but I only see "Sr." listed on the roster. Does anyone know if they (Yale SID) simply group true seniors and 5th years together as "Sr?"

I think our women's program contrasted with our football program proves that a better conference does not necessarily mean better recruits, more interest, and in turn, better on ice/field results. If you asked me 15 years ago if HC football would be getting kids to commit who have P5 offers, PWO, etc., and nearly fill Alumni Stadium for a game, I would say you are batty and or a dreamer. While everyone knows I'm not a huge PL fan, I am quite impressed by the staff's ability to recruit well. Unfortunately, joining Hockey East has not been a panacea for our women's team. Perhaps we need a new recruiting coordinator or coaching staff. Playing on the larger stage of Frozen Fenway hopefully had a positive impact on the recruiting, but who knows.

Anyone have any experience parking in Lot D or Lot A? Lot A is marked for visitors and actually looks a little closer to the Bowl. Any idea which is better? I went down for the game in 2021. I remember pulling into D and being told that I had to park in A. A was fine and not too bad. In other news, it is Friday morning and Yale has still not posted any game notes or a two-deep. Is this unusual? Even the Patriot League teams seem to post something on Thursday before a game. I have to say, after pouring over most of the Yale football website, our engagement, news stories, and social media posts are far more robust than that of Yale.

What are the transaction costs (exit and entrance fees) to move? The Rams played their first home game after their playoff season against nearby Wagner in front of 3147 so they wouldn't be moving from a position of strength, more desperation to escape HC domination. If the Fordham MBB move to the A-10 is a guide, be prepared to be underwhelmed by their FB success in a supposedly more competitive league for awhile. If they leave the PL, I guess HC would just bolt the Ram-Crusader Cup to the shelf in the trophy case and move on. But that would likely require a new team in the PL so I hope the Rams don't leave. I am not as knowledgeable about men's hoops as others on here, but I do believe the A-10 is a stronger hoops conference at the moment. I would think Fordham might push to be added to the CAA as a football only member and I am not sure if that aligns with the CAA's intentions. Going to be interesting if Delaware moves up!

Fitton is used 4-5 times a year (I think it should be 6 but it is what it is) but everything would be in the Fall, which could be a bit for our turf to heal in between HC games. Perhaps a grass practice field would be practical for that. That being said, I am sure Gillette will remain turf until the NE Revolution soccer team moves out. I think the grass at Gillette was too chewed up because of the soccer games. Yes and no. What I read was they put in sod because the Revs season starts in March and that's when the stadium was ready for use. It never took correctly. Led to continual re-sodding efforts during both football and soccer seasons. Got so bad that in the middle of the 18-1 season, they went to artificial turf. The claim was they should have moved the Revs to some other venue (plenty of places that could have handled the kinds of crowds they were getting) and seeded it properly; it would have been ready by the fall. Wonder what their plan is for the World Cup. 100% artificial not allowed for sure. Hybrid might be, they used it in some of the women's matches. Living near Gillette I am planning on being away for those matches held at Gillette. I can only imagine the traffic and crazy futbol fans. I am open to grass at Gillette (my home NFL stadium if you will), but not until the Revs find another place to call home. I would think they would want something less cavernous anyway.

If Gillette converted to grass sooner than most NFL teams, what would be a suitable rental fee for visiting teams to stage a practice on Fitton Field on the Friday before their game in Foxborough or Saturday, too if it wasn't one of the four Saturdays that HC uses the field? The Fitton gridiron could be a hot item if this transition drags out for a while. I know the field in Phoenix had issues at the Super Bowl this year. It has been hailed as an engineering marvel with the removable tray, but there have been issues with it over the years. Now this explanation says it is preventable, but there are certainly issues with rolling a field in and out. I like allowing each team and facility to control what they do with their playing surface. Anyone watching a GB or Chicago game in December will notice white lines painted on dormant grass and the occasional mud bowl. I come out with mixed feelings on both types of turf. I could go either way. www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/super-bowl/2023/02/28/super-bowl-57-slippery-field-conditions-explained/11368392002/

William & Mary fans want Holy Cross to be an all-sports add to replace Delaware if they leave. You guys game? I would be happy in the CAA, particularly if they went back to divisions or pods. I do complain about having to play Bucky and Georgetown, so I would rather not have to play some of the recent adds such as Campbell and NC A&T. I think the reputation of the CAA is still very strong. W&M, Richmond, UNH, URI, and Elon should have excellent seasons, and Maine looks to be rebuilding after some terrific runs a few years ago. Currently there are 15 members, Bryant coming in next year. If HC were to replace Delaware, that would ensure 16 teams and the potential of 2 eight team divisions or 4 four team pods. I know there are some on here who vehemently love the PL and some who support a sort of new northeast/yankee type conference with northern members from the NEC, PL, and CAA. I certainly would be open minded about the possibility. With divisions, the furthest South/west HC would have to travel is once every two years to either Nova or Monmouth. This year we have trips to Bethlehem and Lewisburg. South: W&M, Hampton, Elon, NC A&T, Richmond, Campbell, Towson either Villanova or Monmouth. North: Maine, UNH, Holy Cross, URI, Bryant, Albany, Stony Brook, either Villanova or Monmouth.

Was hinted at a bit in the article but I couldn't help noticing Saturday that BC did not seem to have the edge in terms of team speed. Even noticeable on special teams. Which is something I never thought I would type regarding an ACC team and a PL team. I think that has been a consistent improvement under Chesney (with more of the same heading our way with the current group of commits). I remember the last BC game, thinking size would be a deciding factor, but it turns out it was speed, especially on defense (and agility by the line). Having Dillon certainly helped! This year, I couldn't help but notice that we seemed to look faster on D. Will be interesting to see how our speed factors at Yale. They have a great o-line, could mean our backers and DB's are working overtime to help the DL out. Which, by the way, shoutout to our DL rotation, who really stepped up in the 2nd half. We were fresher perhaps in that regard. Anyone know when Yale posts their two-deep/notes?

Massey has Yale by 1, 28-27 with 51% confidence. Although when you go to the matchup tool and plug in HC at Yale, the results are literally flipped.

Wes Welker of the Patriots tore his ACL on grass in Houston back in 2010 (they switched to turf about 8 years ago).
