This seems like the right time of the year for this thread/discussion. Here is where we stand right now: fbschedules.com/ncaa/holy-cross/Looks like '24 is all set. 2025: FBS No.Illinois, FCS UNH, Yale, URI....I would assume Harvard as well but who knows? It's a 12 game season so we have 2 openings as of now. Another FBS? 2026: FBS Miami(OH) FCS just Yale as of now. Pretty wide open. 11 game season so we need 3 more this season. 2027: No FBS yet. FCS CCSU and Yale. Need 3 more here. 2028: See 2027 2029: FBS San Jose St No FCS scheduled yet. I believe this is another 12 season. So we could get another FBS game here. Just curious what others would like to see. Maybe some here may have some inside info? I really haven't looked too closely at other schools future opponents so I'm not sure what games are feasible etc moving forward.. What year can we get another BC game? What FBS opponents would you like to see in '27 and '28? Where should we focus our OOC opponents, CAA or Ivy?

One of the BC games at Alumni Stadium in that era was on ABC. D-1AA was new and HC had a great record entering the game. I remember an HC fan with an ABC sign to catch the cameras, Ain't we Bowl Contenders, too? I think that was '83 in Foxboro....I'm pretty sure the'82 Harvard game at Fitton was on ABC....which was another one of those frustrating losses to the Johnnies.

According to wiki there were 26K souls at Alumni that day: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1966_Boston_College_Eagles_football_teamUnsure if that was a sell-out then or not. They may have added some seats when the Patriots played there in the late 1960s. The iteration I first remember of Alumni was in the early 1970s when I believe capacity was like 32,500K. It stayed that way until the late 1980s or so when it was remodeled with the addition of Conte Forum. BC played games against their marquee opponents then (early/mid '80s) in Foxboro.

As a father of three teenage boys, I can tell you it’s a huge problem, particularly on college campuses. We’ve been lucky and our kids have steered clear but it’s pretty pervasive in their world. It’s become a thing in our town for kids to gamble among themselves on all sorts of things during high school basketball games. So, when you see students seemingly overreacting to a made free throw or a traveling violation, that’s why. Pretty scary stuff....as I mentioned, this is and will continue to be a major societal issue moving forward.

Offense is brutal.....we simply don't have the Jimmy's and Joe's yet....not much Paulsen can do

Story in the Globe yday highlighted the rise of problem gambling among young men....some as young as 14 betting through other people's accounts. Seeing a lot more young men...I'm assuming 18-25 or so at GA meetings across the state.
The easy, online access is the biggest problem imo....in my day (stay off my lawn btw) you had to be more careful on your bets or you were going to meet up with Rocco or Big Vinny or both at some point.
This is going to be the next opioid-like crisis in America if it isn't already imo.

I think for a bit, and maybe still today, BC&Syracuse were trying to foster a football rivalry/annual end of the year game. Not sure that's still the case.
I've said this here and elsewhere (AGS) many times....we need an annual, end of the season opponent....football seasons many years after the BC rivalry have just seemed to end with a whimper or abruptly. Ideally, Fordham probably best suits us as that game imo.

We also don't have the town of Southwick,Mass, edging into the Connecticut border...details gentlemen....a very sloppy map of Massachusetts on the Hart Centahhh floor.

It'll be interesting but I think the NIL/transfer portal is going to be a hindrance for Ray-Bans at JMU...he should win there but I don't think it's guaranteed

This was a a big "culture" win imo.....it really doesn't move the needle overall for our trajectory this year but it's a nice comeback win before a decent Homecoming crowd that the program can build on.

Coaches post interview… “hopefully we get a better product to put on the floor.” What ? Refreshing having a guy that doesn’t spew coach-speak. And is he wrong? Nope

The O-line, apologies to Sluka, Fuller and Coker (and others), may have been our best unit the last 2 or 3 years....rebuilding it will be a primary concern imo.

I agree....as college football exists now, I think we are situated in a good place.....kids want to come here, stay here and maybe do a 5th year (grad year) at an FBS school if good enough to do so. Ironically, the entertainment biz is working out for us....karma

What a fantastic job by Coach Guns&staff! Really thought we were in trouble with this class when Ray-Bans went South. Already looking forward to the Spring Game and seeing these future Saders in action. So we have gone from “Coach Ray Bans” to “Coach Guns”! You have a great knack for coming up with nicknames LOL....I believe timholycross initially coined "Coach Guns" In my excitement for this incoming class, I forgot they won't actually put on pads on Mt St James until August.
