There's nothing "wrong" with it....but it's contrived and most simply don't care.
While BU is our closest PL rival, they are a bad "match" in a lot of ways athletically. They don't have football or baseball. Hockey is in a different league. The school is heavily female dominated (60-65% not sure), much bigger etc....about as different a school from HC as 2 schools could be in the same league.
Again....it's fine...but I'd daresay near impossible for a natural rivalry to emerge between the two schools for these factors.

The person who came up with the TT came from big schools where this type of thing meant something, and at least was trying to do something. No harm in it at all. This person left HC a year and a half ago.

Again...I don't have a problem with it...I just don't think it's the right "rivalry."
In many ways, that has been one of the biggah problems with us joining the PL. We really haven't had a natural rival since BC...all the other schools just don't seem to work (in total) due to geography (Bucknell and Colgate), not in the PL fully (Fordham and GTown) etc etc.

fighting for one of the final playoff spots, we have a huge game tonight at home vs. colgate - both teams are 2-3-1 in the league. expect sloppy conditions as it's been raining most of the day

Reading that explanation is a relief !
Getting back to the game - that's the kind of gutsy win this team has been looking for in past seasons. after falling behind 3-2 on a penalty kick with less than 8 minutes remaining, to turn it around and get a W in overtime is huge. Two tough matches remain - at army sunday night and home for lehigh Nov 4th.

Thought I was seeing things but as I recall there were at least 2 players wearing the man bras. So, once I saw the second, I figured they weren't imitating Chastain of Olympic fame and must be equipment because what were the chances of two players transitioning? And, yes, my first thought was of Frank Costanza's and Kramer's invention but didn't have time to get the link. Thanks, 8485!  Perhaps on a serious note, someone more familiar with the subject can explain what earthly benefit this helps the players? (Edit: skip that, just saw the link above) |
