We lost 3-0 to both BU and Loyola in the regular season so we’ll have our work cut out for us but we’re playing well so hopefully we can upset the Terriers to set up a final against Loyola or Colgate.

fatigue may be an issue - Friday will be their 3rd game in 7 days. also the travel reminds me of the basketball team in 2016. bus back to worcester tonight, class tmro, class thursday, then back in the bus for a long ride to Baltimore. Adrenalin will have to keep these guys pumped to perform against a rested BU.team.

The "Bus-R-US" theme worked well in hoops so perhaps that could be a good thing. GO CROSS GO!

Wow. HC made all 4 PKs. BU made 1 of 3. HC switched to their backup keeper for the PKs (he reportedly had not play the entire season) and he stopped the first two BU shots. We will be the favorite in the final against #6 Colgate. #WeWill

Unbelievable finish. Bringing in a cold goal keeper (literally, cold) who blocked the first 2 BU PKs.
Now HC #5 seed place #6 Colgate for the championship Sunday. The Silver Fox bus tour seems to work once again!

Too bad the final is so far away. Any chance HC can rally a busload of students?

Since beating Colgate 4-3 in OT on 10/25, we have gone 4 straight games without giving up a goal.

I think that's smart...one keeper (or even a field player) can be better at pk stopping than a player who's otherwise the better choice in the net.
Hate that games have to end that way, but extending the game much more than the length it is now (110 minutes) isn't a real good option, either.

Two things, if the announcers were correct we were 1-3 in games decided by PKs prior to yesterday, and they said that this the first game of the season for the backup keeper. So for whatever reason our coach decided to use him, maybe one of the all time great coaching moves, he had not made the same substitution at any time this season

It may be the backup keeper is the one used when they practice penalty kicks.
And just guessing, the keeper on a long cold night hasn't moved much, and perhaps the cold tends to slow reaction times. _________________
Not wanting to jinx, but if HC gets past Colgate, the new Luth field will be great for practice.

Just caught the end of the game, we had 8 corner kicks, and from the highlights, several scoring chances, as did Boston
