I am sure we could have done the same if we wanted to pay extra.
Jaspers were smart. And probably a better team anyway- at this point in the season. Wasn’t trying to imply they were cheating, only that they were smarter to get their players more rested.

Supposedly the four schools agreed to all arrive on Thursday. MAnhattan's band, cheerleaders and dance team made the other schools look like pikers. Any chance the PL would become a sponsor (to be sure to have one school there every year)?

I heard we were invited to the inaugural tourney because HC has worked closely with the basketball HOF over the recent years.
Not sure $ was a factor in not sending bands, cheer squad etc, had more to do with too many kids missing too many classes.

Kid only missed two days of classes (Thurs and Fri). Would have been a great opportunity to miss an extra day and see a little more of the counrty

As we would frequently say during my time at Holy Cross -- "Never let your school work interfere with your education."

with finals looming, maybe not all players would agree, especially the 6 freshmen going through this for the first time there was an agreement among the 4 schools. Manhattan broke it.

Pretty amazing that they only missed two days of class. I'm just prejudiced because I think Ireland is a really cool place

I am glad they got to sign the "Peace Wall." Eileen and I did that as well, along with visit to the Sinn Fein shop (under the mural of Bobby Sands).
