Ziggy in starting lineup according to game notes, unless they are just going by last game's starters

My guess is that it is simply a copy of the UNH starters. Not meant to be a criticism or endorsement of Ziggy and he may well start. I just don't think Coach Carmody checks in with the media department 5 days before tip-off to make sure they're up to speed on his game prep

Iona lives and dies by the 3 - if holy cross can defend the 3, control the tempo, and keep the rebounding margin difference manageable they have a shot.
This is game should be a good example of BC's system mitigating what Iona does well (run and gun).

He didn’t know Ziggy was going to start 20 minutes before gametime vs unh I did not hear the post game press conference so I can only speculate. I could see a comment like that coming from Coach Carmody's tendency to dismiss many questions as minor issues. If 20 minutes is an accurate number it would lead one to believe last minute information. Possibly health (Benzan only played about half his normal minutes) or maybe some team rule (like showing up late means you can't start) Disclaimer: I have no knowledge of Pat's health or adherence to team rules and am not speculating on those topics. I am simply commenting that there are very few logical reasons why a coach would change the line-up a mere 20 minutes before tipoff

I think Carmody likes to change lineups. Champion became first guy off the bench a few years ago. Niego is also listed as a starter

As had been said by hoops and others, it is not important who starts. Who plays the most and is out there at crunch time is much more important.

Iona has a busy couple of days. Gaels played St John's at MSG on Sunday. Play the Crusaders in Worcester on Tuesday followed by a game in Kingston versus Rhode Island on Thursday.

But so are Montauk Point and Niagara Falls. I understand the confusion, we grew up knowing that we had relatives in "upstate New York" where they happened to live in Hartsdale in Westchester county [any place north of the Bronx was "upstate" and I stuck to that thinking until I lived in Syracuse and found out that wasn't even "upstate" - Syracuse is "central New York."].

I mentioned some of this in the other Iona thread but not all. When Iona's starting SG Zach Lewis takes the court, it will be the third time he has played against HC in Worcester - but for three different teams!
2013: played for Canisius @ HC; played 26 minutes, had 8 pts. 2016: played for UMass @ HC (DCU): played 29 minutes, had 13 pts. 2017: playing for Iona @ HC.
I wonder if any other player has played HC in Worcester three times while playing for three different teams.
(Note: He also faced HC in 2014 at Canisius where he played 31 minutes and scored 16 points.)

I have a strong doubt that any other HC’s opponent’s player has duplicated that “feat.”

Iona is currently 5-5. The Gaels lost their first two games at Albany (by 2) and at Syracuse (by 9). They were 1-2 in the Bahamas defeating Weber State and losing to Northern Kentucky and Coastal Carolina. They then won 4 straight against Ohio-A (by 5), FDU-H (by 7), NJIT-A (by 4) and Yale-H (by 16). Their last game was a loss to St John's at MSG (by 10).
Massey has them favored by 7 (72-55) tonight, with a 72% chance for the win.
