Army 62-60, under 3 left. Holy Cross has turned a 15 point advantage into a two point deficit in the last twelve minutes by deciding to shoot almost exclusively from beyond the arc.

Anyone still want to hate on this freshman class? More than half the minutes, more than half the points in beating a good West Point team.

Grandison with some onions to bail us out from what would have been another brutal loss after some awful basketball in the 2nd half.
Some extremely questionable coaching from Allen and Army.
On another note, I don’t know where the HC stream is bringing in these announcers from, but it would be great if they would send them back. I was excited to see it wasn’t Glasheen on the call, but this new guy might have even talked more!

We are going to be ok. Gave up a big lead, but hung in to win it. Showing improvement with play and toughness!

Great win after losing such a huge early lead. Love the clutch shots by Grandy!!!
note that HC and Army shooting "gravitated to the mean" in second half, as so often happens

Carmody: Sat Charles after first two minutes ... if you're not going to shoot you might as well sit here

Holy Cross shot 50% overall, 41% from three - took 54% of their FGA from beyond the arc, including thirteen of their last seventeen shots.

Thanks for the kind words. Loved your insightful analysis as well. The reason we won is because we made 8 of our first 10 shots and shot 7-11 on 3’s in the first half. There’s no way you can think that’s actually a repeatable and sustainable situation. After that stretch it was back the way we’ve been playing all year.

Holy Cross shot 50% overall, 41% from three - took 54% of their FGA from beyond the arc, including thirteen of their last seventeen shots.Starting with 14:28 left and HC up 49-34 . . . Went 3-13 on the threes (one by AB, and Grandy's two daggers) - 9 points. Made 3-4 of the twos, including two and-ones (JF, KC) - 8 points. I'm happy we won, but that final stretch was a little distressing.

I would have liked a 21 point blowout. I'm very happy with the 4 point win. Women winning at AWP first time in a long while

After that stretch it was back the way we’ve been playing all year. Take a course in probability and you'll come to understand that such sequences can be expected over the course of a season, perhaps more often than the awful 2/24 on threes against Lafayette. Why not celebrate or enjoy that rather than trying to downplay the nice win? Do you think a baseball player who hits .250 for the season goes 1 for 4 in every game? If Steph Curry shoots .400 on threes for the season do you think he goes 6/15 in every game?

Career game for Jehyve - 18 pts, 9 rebs, 4 blocks. Should get some consideration for post-season notice if this keeps up.

If Steph Curry shoots .400 on threes for the season do you think he goes 6/15 in every game? Certainly, those cases can happen over the course of a season if you rely on shooting a high number of 3’s. But how often can it happen? A handful at most? And then be cancelled out by equally poor performances on the other end of the spectrum? Not exactly a winning formula. Sorry, just can’t get myself to celebrate a 5-13 record after a win over an average team at home. Perhaps it’s just fatigue from 4 consecutive losing seasons and frustration that this style of play isn’t actually going to get us out of the hole the program has dug itself.
