Take a course in probability and you'll come to understand that such sequences can be expected over the course of a season, perhaps more often than the awful 2/24 on threes against Lafayette. Why not celebrate or enjoy that rather than trying to downplay the nice win? Do you think a baseball player who hits .250 for the season goes 1 for 4 in every game? If Steph Curry shoots .400 on threes for the season do you think he goes 6/15 in every game? Not exactly a winning formula. It was today

Good to get the win! Great start with fantastic shooting..Army played M2M and HC made them look like traffic cones! Ball movement and knocking down open shots...Army shoots the ball with a high degree of accuracy, and in the 2nd half, they didn't miss many open looks, while we cooled off...The nice aspect was we didn't fold, hung in there and made enough plays...Floyd is really coming on, gaining his confidence and his teammates. He played 34 minutes...Grandi is also rounding into a solid player.Took and made the big 3 late, and did it with confidence and no hesitation..The D in the first half was very active, getting to shooters early and not giving up easy shot..Have to learn to sustain that level...It was good to see Charles go to the hoop a few times and get to the line.. Overall there was a lot of energy on the floor..Players on the floor, hustling after loose balls, winning 50/50 balls...18 assists on 25 hoops with only 6 turnovers.. A good game to build on!!

Once again, the Foley photos provide no support for the attendance figures in the box score. It looks to me the attendance is in the neighborhood of 1/3 the figure in the box score.

Weather or no weather, nobody is going to go these games....even if we were 13-5, there wouldn't be a heck of a lot more there. There's just zero interest in Patriot League basketball in general....to think we can develop a following playing in this league is the height of delusional thinking.

There would be interest in a successful HC team. The league is so bad right now that we should be dominating, and if we were playing an interesting brand of basketball and playing some interesting non-conference games, people would care. The current brand of basketball, 4 straight losing seasons, AND the PL is a deadly combination. Changing the first two things would give us a chance.

Sorry, it starts and ends with the PL....HC hoop will never be relevant as long as we are not in a high-mid major or high major league i.e. A-10 or BE
We are closer to D2/D3 hoop in just about everyone's perception outside of the people who post here than we are to Big East hoop right now.

The Railers are averaging over 4,500 people per night for unaffiliated minor league hockey. How is playing the Adirondack Thunder in hockey any better than playing a PL team in basketbal? People will want to watch HC basketball if we actually have good teams again, a coach they can get behind, and the games are marketed and presented effectively.

We shot better because we had much better looks from porous Army defense.
kc benched because immediate and horrible turnover
Faw, Niego and Butler saw fewer minutes because of defensive liabilities.
imho
GO CROSS GO1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice win, made plays at end to pull out what would have been a back breaking loss. Great to see Green break out of his shooting slump really necessary for one of our guards to hit perimeter shots, hopefully this will be the start of a good run for him. Grandison came up huge at the end after a rather ordinary first 38 minutes. Floyd was tremendous, all over the court on defense and very efficient on offense, outplayed a very good big in Wilson. MVP of game for HC was Army coach Jimmy Allen, how could anyone play man to man against us if you did any scouting at all. Waited till they had a 20 point deficit before going into a zone, then game changed completely. Then at end of game despite numerous opportunities didn't foul Floyd who for some reason Carmody left on the floor when it was obvious Army had to foul. In any event a much needed win, looking forward to Floyd vs Fouland matchup on Saturday.

Surprise of the night American beats BU on the road. Huge game for freshman Sam Iorio 26-7-4, Gasperini still not playing, looking more and more like he's out for year hopefully his career not in jeopardy but very concerning to be out this long with concussion.

You posted about KC bring benched. The stats show he played for 32 minutes. Which was it? (BTW being subbed for is not the same as being "benched", is it? If that were the case, then wasn't every HC Player in the game "benched" at some point?)

We'll likely see M2M on Saturday, too - don't think Nathan Davis like to play zone, though maybe he's using some match-up, like his mentor, Pat Flannery. Maybe 137 can comment here. Also anxious to see what Jehyve can do, especially if the Bison stay man - he's really elevating his game now. Just wish we could find a way to get him the ball more often.

However KC was subbed out 90 seconds into the game, immediately following a turnover. I haven't seen all of HC's games, but I assume that is somewhat unusual. Charles, btw, played 12 minutes in the first half, and then played all 20 minutes in the second half.

Davis used some match-up his first year and a little the first half of last year. At that point - perhaps when he had to alternate two freshmen at SF 40 minutes each game - he abandoned it. It was only used one other time the rest of the year - vs West Virginia in the tournament - and that was after Nate Jones was again available at SF. This year he has played virtually no zone at all. I wish he would use it a bit, even if it's not the same tough match-up they had under Flannery, as a change of pace.

On the post game radio, CBC said he sat KC after he passed up 2 shots and he told him if your not going to shoot you might as well sit for a few minutes... the video announcers said that KC is a clutch shooter, not a high volume scorer he appeared to as a frosh.

Good win...any win is a good win at this point. As far as attendance. Hate to say it buy HC87 is somewhat right. PL basketball is bad. Occasionally an above average team develops but for the most part it's just a bad brand of hoops. PL Football is tolerable, hoops just boring. Winning will cure some but not all.
