Meant to mention, There was a very tall kid watching this game, and walking around campus before the game

Meant to mention, There was a very tall kid watching this game, and walking around campus before the game Scott Vollmer of St. Luke's in CT, a junior center. I don't believe he has any offers at this point.

Was anyone with him showing him around? My guess, he was with relatives, no HC people

Two former HC assistants coaching in Connecticut prep ranks, btw - Tony Newsom at St. Luke's, Sean Doherty at Hamden Hall.

Wonder if AB has a shot at PL RoW ? 30 pts, 12 rebs ? Iorio in a landslide

Iorio looks to be the favorite for ROY. Zach Thomas likely has wrapped up the POY award unless he starts shooting at the opponent's basket....

Wonder if AB has a shot at PL RoW ? 30 pts, 12 rebs ? Iorio in a landslide I would vote for Iorio, but I don't think he will win in a landslide. Petrie has had a great year - for a team that has been surprisingly good - hitting 40-79 (51%) on threes in PL play and 66-75 (88%) on FT's. He is 8th in the PL in effective FG pct and 3rd in fouls drawn. In PL games, he is averaging 19.1 ppg, second only to Zach Thomas. Iorio is great in that category as well, averaging 17.6 ppg. I think the difference-maker is that Iorio has played a much tougher defensive role and done it reasonably well, plus he has done a good job on the defensive boards.

The reference was to the rookie of this week, not the season

The reference was to the rookie of this week, not the season Yes, I see now. I was confused because the PL ROW had already been announced early this afternoon. As expected, it was Iorio, who averaged 25 ppg and 10.5 rpg. Petrie didn't have a bad week himself, averaging 24 ppg on strong shooting, albeit with far less rebounds and too many turnovers.

Just looked up Don Bosco in NJ. Judging from the interlocking logo (DB) and maroon pullover he was wearing, I would say yes, the young man is from Don Bosco.

Burke's a small school, D3; they are going to go pretty far in the tournament before being tested.
