Note to posters - if I block somebody, I don't have to read what he posts. If another individual quotes him, then I do see it - and I don't want to see it. If folks feel the need to respond to this individual, please do so without quoting. Thank you.

87 - While I disagree with your inference/belief that we can't get enthusiasm and solid interest behind the program at our current level of competition, you are right that we are invisible right now outside of die-hards. 1818 showed up today for a Saturday game, coming off 6 wins in our last 9, against the number one team in the league, who not long ago we were peddling as our big basketball rival. Students showed up to some degree but were inexplicably silent. Pending weather not an excuse -- I got back across the NY State line from the game before any flakes came down.
Today's attendance number should be reflective of a weeknight game against Lafayette or Colgate during winter break. Even since I've been in school, we've fallen off the map. Right now you're right, "nobody caahhheeess" but let's hope this year's freshmen class will turn the tide. Hopefully these guys' classmates are the ones filling up most of whoever actually sits in the student section now and they continue to support the next three years. Years in which hopefully we become a winning program again.

Absolutely mind-boggling that someone who claims "no one cares" apparently has so little to do in life, that he needs to log on, and post 3x in a brief period the exact same thing that we get with every single post.

It's because I know we could be so much better basketball-wise...if we actually cared

Losing hurts and if these boys weren't so tired at the end of regulation maybe some more FTs fall, perhaps we turn the ball over less, and maybe Pat's soft jumper falls in (the kid showed remarkable skill creating enough space against a readied defense). The energy and resilience the boys showed was downright inspiring. We needed LeSann to play minutes which could have helped. Bison are tough. Good good players who are well coached. The adjustment they made defending JF worked. I was hoping to see more screens on their big fella so he could get JF driving against Thomas or #13. Better play calling in the end would also have helped. The coaches seemed confused as to what they wanted before they called a timeout.

Seriously, if you went to HC before or around 1980 or so, you wouldn't recognize HC basketball today....joke of a program today.....no one cares

LOL...yeah 1818 (if that) speaks volumes of fan appreciation...hardly anyone, save for NAD, cares about Patriot League basketball

I love how everyone here pretends to care about HC basketball but they can't see what's inherently wrong with it...i.e Patriot League basketball

My 3 yr old daughter came with me today for her very first hoop game of any sort. She had an an absolute blast, and I did as well having her with me. Made for a special day. And you know something- what league HC plays in made no difference to her, or to any of the many kids who were there who enjoyed themselves. So miserable SoB's- speak for yourself, not for the rest of us.

87,
We understand your point of view. The repetition is old, dull and honestly, nobody cares what you think.
Whether the number is 8 or 18 or 1818, there are people here who do care and are the reason this board exists.
If you want to participate, fine. But if all you’re going to do is come here, crap on those who do care, and continually regurgitate your tired old tripe about how great things used to be, I suggest you find another board.

If you really think HC athletics are improving, you are deluded....we'll see football-wise, basketball is a joke....shame, HC athletics were once a point of pride, now they have to hide behind a moderator

That was a great game to go to. I thought they would pull it off. Still haunting me is the Pat Benzan shot at the end of regulation was halfway down. But the team is playing better.

Overtime was a grind. Against the best defense in the league by far, scoring is awful tough when you lack pure jump shooters or anyone who can create scoring opportunities off the dribble. Benzan's floater ended up not being a bad look considering our offensive limitations in the half-court when Floyd is at all neutralized. Jacob Grandison will end up being our most versatile offensive player next year.

Overall though, they had a nice comeback when they were down and it looked like Bucknell was going to run away and hide. They pretty much matched them shot for shot. To bad, we needed some more free throws to go down. Grandison looks good.
