This isn't the Carter/Duffner era. Don't I know it.....hopefully Chesney is starting to change the culture....

Think about it - as statistically unlikely as a win may be, it would be a shot heard around the world, one of the biggest upsets in the history of college football really, which would change the course of HC football forever. Howard beat UNLV last season when they were 40-something point dogs.

Might we see something like this coming down the Mass Pike and pulling into Chestnut Hill tomorrow morning? Let's Win!! The look and sound of elite football! Hopefully at least one of those guys attends a legit college class 😆 Good luck tomorrow everyone but no matter the score it’s only week two!

What team movie do we watch tonight? Is it the pre-game talk from Herb Brooks before the US-Russia game (not tonight.... tonight it is our turn)... or is it the Gene Hackman scene in Hoosiers when the team walks into Hinkle Fieldhouse and measures the hoop and the lane....
Looking forward to the festivities tomorrow....I think Coach Chesney has it well stated:
"It doesn’t make or break our season. This doesn’t have any playoff or title ramifications attached to it. This is about trying to do our best again. For (this game) to come at this moment — year one, game two — will certainly test us, but these are the games you hope for somewhere down the line......That progress you need to be seeing regardless of your opponent. There could be matchup issues that prevent it, but ’Were you mentally there? Did you know what you needed to do? Were you physically correct in your technique and in the end just came up a little short because of the matchup? That can happen, too, but I think it’s a matter of us seeing that and feeling that we made those adjustments and those improvements moving forward..
Looking forward to a great day with HC and BC friends alike....The purple flag will be flying (with the Crusader -- sword and cross in hand!) -- Let's all wear the purple proudly. Go Cross!

On the BC campus now having a bite to eat at a campus cafeteria just outside Alumni Stadium. Unless BC students are like Cross students and just tailgate and don’t go and watch the game, it’ll be a very big crowd today.
Cloudy/overcast and a bit windy but hopefully the sun will peek out and warm up just a bit.
Lots of HC fans doing tailgating but pretty sure unlike at Fitton, they didn’t drive all the way here NOT to go inside the stadium.

I'm bummed I can't be at the game, but looking forward to watching it - Hopefully I'm able to stream via ACCN Extra.
Spoke briefly with Chris Smith yesterday, it sounds like there's a lot of positive excitement in the locker room and this team has a never quit mentality.
I think the two biggest factors for us today will be winning the turnover battle and bringing some different defensive looks and pressure in order to slow down their running game early.
These are the times I wish I was still out there playing... Go Cross.

'67, I'm getting Wake Forest-Towson on the ACC Network right now, so hopefully we'll get our game.
Guys, have a blast this afternoon, regardless of the outcome......make a lot of noise! Go Cross Go!

Toughest first seconds possible for HC. Big loss if he is out for the game (or beyond)

Ouch...we can't even slow them down. 1 minute 4 play drive = TD for BC. "Too easy" as the announcers say.

Another player down

Post by hcpride on Sept 8, 2018 12:15:51 GMT -5
Another play another HC player knocked out of the game. Announcers are concerned with injuries in a mismatch like this. This has to be the worst 7 opening plays in HC history. Play 1 - one guy out, plays 2-5 touchdown easy drive for BC , play 6 extra point, play 7 another HC player injured and out.
Lets turn this around fast.
