Hat trick of fouls is risky but works. Two wins over OOC team with a tiny, tiny chance for a third in Dayton.

Love that the key basket came on a beautiful Floyd pass to CG.
How about Austin Butler--nice game today

Ray, Dave, 92, and 8485 all in one shot at the end of the game. The new Section F?

HC 7-13 on threes while Siena was 9-32, so 2 more 3's on 19 more attempts.

Jamion Christion was totally clueless down the stretch.
Two poorly played games at home against below average teams, but two wins so everything is awesome I guess!
HC loooked gassed down the stretch, but so did Siena. It looked like Carmody was going to call a timeout when HC had the ball up 1, but held off, which ended up being the right call because Siena was also tried and wasn’t able to play a full possession of defense. If that was Carmody’s thought process, that was a really good move.

JF had highlight reel skills but looks to pass first. CBC can take credit for his four year development.

We haven't played that well since UMass. But, there's something to be said finding ways to beat Canisius and Siena when we didn't play all that well.
I am encouraged that we have pretty much won every game that we were "supposed to win." The sign of a good team is taking care of business against those teams, which we have done -- 0-4 against the Top 100, but 2-0 against 101-200 and 6-0 against 201+ is solid.
It would have been nice to pick off PC or Harvard, but I'm not going to dwell on that.
Beating Iona on the road sure would be nice. That would make us 4-0 against the MAAC.

Siena had 11 ORs, the sixth time in the last seven games opponents have notched double figures. Overall, our DR was just 65%, which is poor. However, in the last 11:48 of the game, HC got 10 of 12 (83%) of the available boards at the defensive end - and went from ten points down to the three point win. www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/playbyplay?gameId=401086055

Two threes by AB. If this mystery gets solved, we may say the Butler did it.😉 If Bill Raftery had been doing the color, on that second three he would have yelled "Onions!!".

There is no such thing as a bad win when you're Holy Cross.

I just returned from the game, a 70 mile trip one way. It was my first basketball game in about 5 years, and I was not impressed. I left when Holy Cross was down by 10 in the second half, as I had enough. Although I'm glad the Cross pulled it out, I just could not watch this type of basketball. The Cross missed too many easy chip shots, and their rebounding is totally unsatisfactory. Plus, I hate watching that Princeton style of offense, because it is very slow paced. When I left, I thought Siena was going to blow the game open. To beat this team by only 3 on your own home court is not a good sign.

Typically not a good sign for the long run when that’s the only reason you beat a 4-8 team. Great defense is always a good sign They missed quite a few wide open 3’s. Siena shoots 31.7% from 3 on the year (#259), and shot 27.3% today. On 33 attempts, that’s a difference of 1 made three. I know people are loving just tossing around the “great” superlative all willy nilly, but holding a poor shooting team one 3FG below their season pace isn’t really something to write home about.

Very odd game. The clock stopped at 9:35 (because Siena called time), 5:10 (the Under 8 timeout) and 12.7 seconds (Siena time out again). No other stoppages, which means no fouls and no turnovers. Can't remember a game where there were so few interruptions. Plus when I stepped in my car it was 1:41. Figuring it took 7-10 minutes to make a pit stop and walk to near Hogan, it means that the game, which started at 12:05; took somewhere between 1:25 and 1:30 to play.

Yea...there was never an under 4 TV timeout. I walked out at 1:37pm which is very early for a noon start. The last two games were pretty similar; down ten in the second half, and, all of a sudden HC takes off. They hit three threes and four shots at the rim while forcing Siena (for the most part) to settle for long threes. What makes this special is that they are reserving their best basketball when it counts with only six guys playing serious minutes. Carmody must have these guys in great shape. PS. Siena's big guy looks like Bill Laimbeer.

But, when is winning not a "good sign?" (Perhaps it was your departure that inspired the team as they came back to win.) If you thought that Siena was going to blow the game open, perhaps you don't know this Holy Cross team. I hope your next visit to the Hart is more enjoyable for you.
