Congrats Jehyve! Now carry everybody to Dayton! No doubt a 16 seed, but a lot has to go against them to get a play in game.

Jehyve now has 944 career points--he will get so close to the magic 1,000...………
Of course, I understand that he is more interested in winning than in achieving personal milestones

I could definitely see his 1000th point being the game-winner in the PLC.

Will your boys have “Jehyve for President” signs at the game ?

Will your boys have “Jehyve for President” signs at the game ? Yes. We’ll take suggestions for other signs as we get closer but the big fella will be prominently featured.

If a serious basketball fan, totally unfamiliar with the Patriot League, watched Jehyve tonight and overheard that he was a 2nd team All League selection, he’d say “That must be a real good league!”

From Bison137 on their board
“ Floyd is likely the most dangerous player in the league,”

Floyd is surely a unique player. On one hand he could be the most dangerous player in the PL but on the other hand because he lacks the very important skill of shooting the ball when he moves up to play the next level and faces players as athletic as him, he virtually has no impact on the game.

Lafayette just tried to play him straight up with one defender, which is essentially suicide if we are actually getting him the ball down low. If you’re going to let him catch in the middle of the high post and go to his left, you’re going to get killed.
I would be surprised if Bucknell is not doubling or at least digging down every time he touches it, and at the very least having Sestina forcing him to go right every time.

Can't rule that out entirely, though I would be skeptical that he would be able to produce much offensively, and the NBA is completely an offensive-based league now. Centers have to be able to score some, either from behind the three-point line or as roll men in pick and roll (the NBA's bread and butter play, still). Jehyve is strong and can jump, but he's all left hand. Completely. He ALWAYS come back to his left hand. They're pretty smart in the Association, and they'll take that away from him and make him score with his right. Could he adjust? Sure. But he hasn't shown any ability with his right that I've seen.

he is not ready now, but after the G league or Europe for a few years, may be ready

I doubt he is a next level player Agree that his size and skill set don't indicate NBA readiness or even NBA potential.
(Of course anything is theoretically possible.)

skills can be developed obviously he would need to -play the 4 he does have the most important quality--superior athleticism

There is a mid major guy now in the G league who is a nice comparison to see what it takes to make it to the NBA. (He too was listed as 6'8" in college but is now officially listed as 6'7"). Graduated 3 years ago and has played overseas, G League and a small cup of coffee. Watch the first clip:

if he develops the skills of a 4, the athleticism is equal or close to NBA level

Listen I love Floyd but there is no way his game plays at the next level. Even at the next level of college ball Floyd did little against Michigan ,Providence or Harvard as they had bigs who were his equal or better and I don't think the bigs on any of those teams are NBA material. I can't think of anyone in the NBA who can't shoot from the perimeter. Even guys like Baynes and Theis for the Celtics shoot threes. He reminds me of a poor mans Dennis Rodman who couldn't shoot a lick but had elite athleticism that made him a great rebounder and defender. At this point JF hasn't shown himself to be a great rebounder and while a great off the ball defender he wouldn't be able to guard any position on the floor as could Rodman. As far as developing a perimeter game I would have thought if it was possible it would have been done by now. That being said he's been an exciting player to watch for the last four years and will be difficult to replace.

Jehyve can certainly make a good living playing basketball but probably not in the NBA unless he can add a jumper to his repertoire.
For selfish reasons, I’m hoping my Giants take him in the 7th round and make him a tight end.
