Congratulations to HC's repeat PL All-Star. That defensive player of the year was certainly well earned...not just by the block stats, but by the way that players wound start toward the hoop, see him and often go the other way. We will miss that next year.

Who'd have thought that we'd miss Floyd as much on the offensive end as defensive?
Congrats to a great player!

He was robbed. Deserved 1st team Team’s PL record had to,hurt his chances He is definitely one of the league's top five players. But he did not deserve 1st team because of the way he was used, as well as being on the last place team - which definitely hurt his chances. I think this year's field of players was the best group of ten the league has ever had. You can make a good case for nine of them to be 1st team.

Who'd have thought that Matt Langel would run circles around the league?
Consider what he is doing at COLGATE!
- #1 seed in the PLT - Coach of the Year - Player of the Year (nice job landing a transfer) - Two on the Second Team - One on the Defensive Team - One on the All-Rookie

Colgate may well be a unanimous pick for 1st place in next year's preseason poll.

I just disagree with you saying "he doesn't deserve to be on the 1st team". If he (or any of the 9) are good enough to be on the first team, then they all are deserving. Hopefully he has a few more highlights left.

Congrats to Jehyve! Definitely one of my favorite HC players. Between him and Kostecka, pretty good year for Milan Brown on the all-PL teams.

Unfortunately team performance has consequences and cost Floyd a place on the first team. Based strictly on stats Kostecka should have been POY but not going to happen when team finishes 9th.

While I agree with you he was not effectively used, The choices could not have been more wrong player of the year should have been Floyd or kostecka as they changed the game plan or outcome of every game loyola coach has/had no talent after kostecka and gave most every team problems he was coach of the year

In 1956, Paul Hornung won the Heisman (best player in the Country) when ND was 2-8! I clicked "like" in error. I think he deserved to be 1st team.

I’ll take the second team in a game over the first team,, but maybe could use one of the guards on the 3rd team.

I think most on the board thought the big 3 sophomores would show significant improvement and vie for league honors this year. A look at their PL numbers this year compared to last show little improvement: CG this year 10/2.5/2.6 vs 8/2.7/2.5, AB this year 13/4.2/2.2 vs 12/4.6/1.4, JG this year 12/3.9/2.3 vs 11/5.8/2.5

How do you win Defensive Player of the Year, but get Second Team All Patriot League? Is that fairly normal for a POY award in basketball?

How do you win Defensive Player of the Year, but get Second Team All Patriot League? Is that fairly normal for a POY award in basketball? I would think that is quite common. I looked up the NBA (understanding that there is a difference between NBA and college/Patriot League) Defensive POY 17-18 Rudy Gobert--did not make All-NBA 1st, 2nd, or 3rd team 16-17 Draymond Green- Made 3rd Team All NBA 15-16 Kawhi Leonard- -Made 1st Team All NBA14-15 Kawhi Leonard-- did not make All-NBA 1st, 2nd, or 3rd team 13-14 Joakim Noah-- Made 1st Team All NBA

A very difficult comparison. The PL has 10:teams, the NBA, 30

Congrats to Jehyve! Definitely one of my favorite HC players. Between him and Kostecka, pretty good year for Milan Brown on the all-PL teams. Jahaad Proctor was also named 2nd team all-Big South (averaged 19.3 PPG), in addition to being the league’s Scholar Athlete of the Year.

Can't quite understand how the PL picks who is on the First Team, Second Team, etc. First team has 4 G's and 1 F'd; Second team has $ F's and 1 G, while the third team has 5 G's! Makes no sense!! !

If the PL chose the best 5, 10, 15 players for each of these teams, they could justify the position imbalance. They did not.choose the best 5 for the first team, leaving out the all time FG % champ who is far ahead of the second place, McNaughtin, current blocks leader and a center who leads his team in assists.

They pick the 5 best players. The next 5 best players and the next 5 best players
all regardless of position.
