‘Good’ effort ? Wrong - fantastic effort - some think Tennessee can win it all. Preseason POY in my book will be Jordan Burns - what a performance ! I think he had 30

Ivanauskas, Burns, and Rayman were the best threesome in the PL this year. I'm guessing they will be next year, too.

For those who suggested that there was “a dime’s difference between all the PL teams” it must be heartening to think that Holy Cross or Loyola or Navy or Bucknell for that matter would also have posted just a single digit loss to #2 seed Tennessee.

I think Dana Batt had more points against the Vols than he ever did against JF.

Colgate really playing with a ton of heart! What happened to Ivanauskas? The announcer said he was having a vision problem. No explanation why.

The announcer said he was having a vision problem. No explanation why. The time I had it, it burned like hell. Unless there is a real quick remedy that they don't normally give to people, you're SOL for a couple days. That sucks for the kid.

Makes the Colgate effort all that more impressive.

Makes the Colgate effort all that more impressive. His problem was that the pink eye prevented him from installing his contacts so he couldn't see.

Makes the Colgate effort all that more impressive. His problem was that the pink eye prevented him from installing his contacts so he couldn't see. This might be 20-20 hindsight (pun intended), but I don't see why he could not have worn prescription sports glasses, I'd guess he did not take a pair of his glasses on the road with him.

The announcers said he did try glasses, but that he still couldn't see properly.

If he just woke up with pink eye in the morning, he’s not going to be able to see well in the afternoon. Pink eye is rough, especially in the first 24 hours.

17 years ago, Roy was trailing Ralph 35-31 as a #1 seed at the half.

Thoughts after the first round
1. It has been fun. Two 16's had halftime leads, and 3 12 seeds won. 2. Big 10 is 7-1, Big East is 1-2 (plus St. John's lost in first four.) 3. A lot of high seeds look vulnerable. Maybe we will get a really weird set of games this weekend. I thought Oregon was much better than I expected. 4. I am getting annoyed about all of the checking of the clock resulting in an undeserved time out. I know college hoops is about the coaches, but I like to see the players solve problems on their own sometimes. Maybe the players should have to stay on the floor when the only thing being checked is the time left. 5. We probably could have a Tom Izzo thread. I saw the video of the controversy right after it happened. If the camera person had looked away to order a Coke, it might not even be a story. Unless he said something offensive, and there is no indication he did, they should leave him alone. His players did not care and he did not assault the kid. It may be that yelling at today's players is counterproductive. If it is, he will learn or the game will pass him by which would be too bad because I have always thought he was a good coach.

The reaction of the player Izzo yelled at (God forbid):
"I know what I signed up for, my family did too. I'm all for it."

Fun day of hoops yesterday. Colgate represented the league very well and had a chance down the stretch. Also, how about those Anteaters?

Fun day of hoops yesterday. Colgate represented the league very well and had a chance down the stretch. Also, how about those Anteaters? Yes, indeed, and with its leading scorer (going into the game) and leading rebounder essentially ending up a DNP. Fantastic effort against a team that had been ranked #1 from about the middle of January to the middle of February.

Kicking myself for not having faith in them - I watched them play quite a bit this year. Turner's teams have been a bit like RW's HC teams - plenty of big strong bodies, emphasis on D.

PL POY 0 points in half a game in which he can't see. Does 'gate win this with a healthy Ivan?
