possum, While I agree with much of what you say, most of RW's teams would say that PB is how a player should develop. He was very reluctant to play frosh for significant minutes IIRC.

1-PB was not behind Green, who played the 3, He did play behind another frosh, Ziggy. there was a frosh we did rely greatly upon last season, Karl Charles 2-i believe that sophs developing greatly from their frosh seasons are not outliers. Many freshmen who can play do not play immediately. 3-we do not have to rely on freshmen next season, just get complimentary contributions We have KC, PB and hopefully JF to be the key players. Perkins and LeSann could also contribute. 4-i do not know how you are so sure that the current PL frosh you mention would all be getting playing time for HC.

Hoops you really believe that this years team is so loaded that the players I listed above would not get on the floor. I actually think that most of those guys would not only play but would start on this team. If the main players on the team next year are KC, PB and JF and none of the freshmen are impact players we will be lucky to win 5 games. Let's be honest CLS is not your typical freshmen he's 21 years old, has played internationally and had a year of prep ball if he's not ready yet he may never be. Please list a few guys who didn't play at all as freshmen then became good players as sophs.

Please list a few guys who didn't play at all as freshmen then became good players as sophs. I did not say those players would not get on the floor, but i am not sure any would start. KC and PB have proven themselves ready to be the key players next season. If they are, and JF can defend and rebound as he has shown he can, i believe that we will win far more than 5 games. I am being honest. Although Clayton is older with more experience, it is still his first college season. PB also played a year of prep and he was not ready last season.. To say Clayton may never be ready because he is not ready yet is absurd. The minutes for all these players are not listed. They all probably played more minutes than our frosh thus far, but they refute your claim that we know that all good players show it in their freshman seasons all 1000 + scorers frosh years: 1-Bill Walker-2 ppg no minutes listed, but 49 FGa indicate he did not play major minutes 2-Kevin Hamilton-4.4 3-Dave dudzinski-4.6 4-tim Clifford-2.7 5-Jim Nairus-4.2 6-Torey Thomas-5.1 7-Rick mashburn-3.5 8-Marley Halsey-2.5 9-Ted Bettencourt-1.2, 4.2 mpg 10-Malcolm miller- 2.4 soph-5.7 did you see him play ? If so, did you think he would score 1000 after you saw his frosh season.? Or any of these players ? Even 2224 scorer Rob Feaster scored 8 ppg as a frosh. enough ? just curious, how long have you been watching college hoops ?

C'mon Hoops all those guys played significant minutes as freshmen and you could tell they were going to be good players absolutely no resemblance to the current frosh

Matt Husek played 10 minutes as a freshman, He played 196 minutes as a soph and went 3-23 on three point shots. Despite that inauspicious start he has developed into a solid contributor, a particularly good shooter.. Andrew Keister played 19 minutes in his freshman year (injured) and then 146 minutes in his next year--became an outstanding center

I watched Jack Foley at the Auditorium so I've seen all the players you reference. I saw Malcolm as a freshmen and thought he had a ton of talent and the only thing that held him back was he didn't know how good and didn't play that way till the end of his senior year. Obviously most freshmen aren't going to dominate like Perry, Potter and Vicens did, Potter by the way is my favorite HC player ever, but you can gauge their potential early on. On a team with virtually no depth it says volumes that Carmody shows no confidence in CLS or JS.

We agree on Potter. i coached against him in hs, thought he would be good, he became great.
We have at least 14 games to go

Billy Walker barely played any minutes as a freshman.....Roger Breslin......Greg Kinsey rarely played as a freshman, then started on a team that should have taken out Marquette in the NCAAs. Bucknell's Charles Lee I don't think got much burn as a frosh, and they even had a kid go from JV player to POY before he was done. It does happen.

Proctor bounced back today with an 85-63 win. the coach wrote that Caleb and his backcourt partner dominated both ends in the second half, driving and dishing to their bigs and causing 8 second half turnovers with their D. Caleb led with 27.

You're welcome. I haven't really watched any of the game (not even the Exeter game), but I did find this play from the New Hampton game. Go to 54:30. Unfortunately he misses the shot. New Hampton School

great stuff, mm. i really appreciate all the videos as it will be nice to be able to evaluate cg's game beyond the highlights.
i like what i've seen thus far. the kid is clearly a natural leader and seems to have the skills necessary to contribute right from the start.
