Agree with WG comment on Copeland I have also watched some of the Exeter streams and have not been impressed with what I've seen. Hopefully caught him in off games.

Caleb had 25, including a game-tying three with 30 seconds left, in their most recent game. Unfortunately, they lost.

Caleb had 26 of the team's 46 in the first half as they won 78-67. The coach did not write his final total.

These recent scoring numbers are impressive considering the high level of competition and that he plays with top recruits, including a Big 10 recruit 2 guard.

I agree. May have been overlooked because of size. I see him caddying for pb as a frosh at PG.

caddie... one who knows the course [in this case CBC's system] and how his player [in this case teammates] likes [i.e. has chemistry with] to play.
CG's play indicates he can be a scorer as well as pass first PG, but maybe we should be looking at his rebound #'s; if he was 6'2 we may not be having this conversation;

Had the opportunity to watch the Proctor-Cheshire game yesterday up in Ashburnham. Chol Marial, Cheshire's 7-2 soph center was in street clothes, which I think caused the game to turn into more of a run-and-gun affair - but also allowed both teams to play man-to-man. Caleb was matched up most of the day with Cheshire's Rich Kelly, similar-sized, hard-nosed senior PG who is uncommitted, but picked up a few MAAC offers in February. Some observations about CG, fwiw . . .
STRENGTHS.
- Strong dribble-drive, very good at changing speeds. Cruised into the circle, then exploded past Kelly for a couple layups early on. That helped set up his outside shot - driving and forcing the defender to cheat back to the basket, Green had a couple nice pull-up jumpers in the lane, later extended out to the arc where he jabbed as if to drive, then stepped back to hit a couple threes. Attacked from both wings as well as the top.
- Drove and finished comfortably with either hand. Once, he drove hard to the basket right-handed, then went air-borne and, to avoid a big at the rim, did a 360 and laid it up with his left hand - ball rimmed out, but a smart, eye-opening, athletic play.
- Didn't see him make a bad pass, and he made a variety, including a number to teammates in scoring position. Excellent in both half-court and in transition. Sharp two-handed chest passes, two-handed overhead, one-handed overhead and sidearm, bounce passes off drives and on breaks, court-length baseball pass for a score late in the game. Three different alley-oops for scores - one on an OOB play, one on a snap pass from the circle to a finish on the break, and one on a floater as he dished off in the lane. Very good court vision, long and short. Very good handle.
- Good "combo" judgment. Don't see him as either a pass-first or shoot-first PG, but rather somebody who is looking for the best scoring opportunity available, as soon as he gets his hands on the ball. Drove and dished a number of times, only forced his own shot a couple times.
- Pretty good on-ball defense in half-court. Alternated between squaring up on Kelly, and angling to his strong or weak hand to influence him towards the sideline. Consistently went under ball screens rather than trying to fight over them. Don't recall Caleb getting beaten on a drive.
- Vocal floor leader at both ends of the court - very good PG personality. Played 39 of 40 minutes - clearly the one kid on the team that the coach needed out there all the time.
WEAKNESSES.
- Mid-way through the second half, CG picked up three fouls in about two minutes, and became increasingly frustrated with the refs - nothing awful, just started whining a bit - and it detracted from his play, as he let down a little on defense, and forced a bad shot. The coach pulled him and sat him for one minute, then he went back in and was fine.
- Releases his shot from chin-level, which isn't ideal. Think he has the quickness to create some space for himself before launching
- Other stuff . . .Didn't seem to me he was always running full-bore back in transition defense. Didn't provide a lot of help defense down low on Cheshire's bigs. Didn't show much nose for rebounding the ball. No free throws, not sure if it was because he was contact averse.
Overall, very impressive performance, especially at the offensive end. Bigger test coming Saturday vs. Cushing, whose PG, Wabissa Bede, is bound for high-majors. The game was played at a nice, brand-new, multi-level field house on the Cushing campus - very good venue for watching.

Thanks for the detailed scouting report. WG Did Geo Baker play ? I have not seen his name mentioned recently, at about the same time that Caleb started scoring bigger are you going to Saturday's game ?
