Gibbons and Dave Magarity are and still are very good friends. The Magaritys know all about what's been going on at HC the last few years.

Time will tell if this is a good move or not. I will say that she has recruiting in the same waters as HC as there are a number of players on the UNH roster who HC also recruited, Story, Soucy, Gogolin & in coming center Cote With the Mildcats having a coaching change, I would expect that "incoming center Cote" would be freed from her commitment. Do we have room? Would/could she hitch a ride to the Woo with MM? From her Wikipedia page: "She was also named one of the Thirty Up-And-Coming Women's Basketball Coaches You Should Know by High-Post Hoops in 2018."...........for what that's worth.

We definitely have room - I count 8 returners including Faulkner which is a BIG ? and 4 incoming frosh - the ncaa max is 14 schollies altho we rarely reach that number (believe 13 most years) so we could definitely use another big as Demski at 6'3" is our only player taller than 6'1", and coming off a serious knee injury.

The maximum for women is 15, although that I agree that they rarely if ever, have had more than 13 shollie players on the roster since going back to scholarships. I curious, why do you think Faulkner is a ?. I have no reason to believe that prior to the announced coaching change that there is any reason other than injury to explain Faulkner's absence both this past season & the season prior. and fully expect her to return, likely as a captain. I certainly agree that we need a another big, both in filling out this class and the '21 class.

When was the last time you saw a player in and out of the lineup so many times in the course of a season (play two, out one / play 3, out 2 etc.. during the 2nd half of this season) ? When has that player, when absent, not appeared on her team's bench for any of the games (home or away) ?

Rarely, but I think if there were any disciplinary problem she would have been suspended or dismissed from the team. I would be incline to agree with you but for the fact she kept coming back, and in nearly all the games she played in she had significant mins and generally played well.

When was the last game she played in ? Isn’t it strange that she was not on the bench for the playoffs?

Have some time on my hands - here's a general overview of her season - played in the first 6 games - played in 12 of the next 18 games (not appearing for even a minute because she wasn't there in those 6) win at Lafayette Feb 15 when she played 29 mins was her last game (I watched-no injury) - did not appear on the bench or in any of the last 6 games of the season
go figure

The last game she played in was Lafayette 2. She missed the last 6 games. Yes, it was strange. However, there are any number of health problems other than a physical injury that could explain it.

I googled "Magarity" AND "Holy Cross". No pertinent matches. Only references to the UNH coach are from them beating HC a couple years ago. Most references are to her dad. Nothing on the HC or UNH websites. This isn't necessarily a done deal, not that I have any objections. With many of the knowledgeable voices on the board supporting the move, I've come around myself. I'm a good sheep.

Would BG have anything good to say about HC? Just askin.... He could say: "They're not very loyal. They only gave me 38 years on the books."

The overwhelming odds are that whatever happened with Faulkner was not injury-related.

She has a strange affect. I recall seeing her on the floor sauntering around, often with a smile on her face.

Sarasota and I saw the same strange affect . She sometimes seemed somewhat in a haze and out of sync with the ongoings and then snap to and get back into the game .

My nephew was concussed in a game. In subsequent games, DNP and found even sitting on the bench to be uncomfortable because of the noise and lights. IIRC, he went on a road game to Dartmouth and could not even sit on the bench. Withdrew from school for the second semester to preserve a fifth year of eligibility.

There is no evidence of any discord. At 5'11" with guard skills I hope she comes back next year and Avery has a good target to feed the ball to. She might be the second best player on the team if she comes back healthy.

She might be the second best player on the team if she comes back healthy. If there’s radio silence on a player suddenly missing from a team, is it more likely discord or injury? I know we’re not widely covered by the media but there might have been a brief mention of the player somewhere along the way in a pre-game or post-game interview if she were still a member of the team and just suffering from the rare injury that prevents her from sitting on the bench with the team for six straight games. My second time citing Occam’s razor this week. From YourDictionary.com: Some examples of Occam's razor include the following: One of the fence posts is broken. Of possible explanations a) An albino moose, lost on its quest for its squirrel best friend, crashed through the fence in despair, or b) An old nail rusted through, "b" is more likely.

Remember, there are constraints on what the school/coaching staff can say w/o permission of the student-athlete. Whatever's gone/going on, the Faulkners are, for whatever reason, playing it close-to-the-vest; no social media posts or anything like that; the most Facebook can tell us is a nice family shot after the Lafayette game (her final one, where she played well); then one or two of her apparently in Greencastle.
In any case, let's pick this thread back up on Monday when there's the possibility of an announcement. Certainly not one forthcoming today or tomorrow. Happy Easter.

I'm curious, can you tell me the last time there was any public comment of any sort from any HC source on WBB injuries? I do recall on one or two occasions that during the always brief pre-game comments that heard a player was unavailable, no reason given. The only time this year there has been a published comment in the T&G IIRC was in the pre-season article where the was a brief comment to the effect that Demski was out for the year with a ACL injury. If she were not a member the team now I would expect her that she would have been removed from the website, as was Parks. HC has not covered themselves in glory when it comes to even modest transparency in regards to any issue dealing with WBB this season. Please point me to any statement on any player this season that was injured, and there were plenty that were. I have repeatedly voiced frustration regarding the lack of information on the health of players this season and the response of few is HIPPA, but I don't buy it. What's particularly galling is the failure of the T & G to even mention anything, if they have asked a question, they have not reported any answer or lack of one. She is not in the transfer portal, nor at this point is any player, she is listed on the roster, she actually played in more games this year than last.

First, the athlete can always waive HIPAA and OK disclosure of an injury by the school. That happens frequently at bigger programs. Secondly, the athlete is always free to answer a question from the press about his/her injury.
