Dear Longsuffering, You can either live or stay in your basement. Your choice. But I think we are being absolutely ridiculous in the Northeast. I note the following: 1. Whether you have the Fauci shots or not, it seems that you can contract it and transmit. (Thank God we have cashiers and host folks at a variety of establishments checking to see if you have a vaccine card that makes absolutely no difference.)2. Yes, there are people in the hospital. But, those numbers are greatly overstated as to whether it is COVID or something else. 3. People should be allowed to decide to live in the world or stay in their basement. I think we should end this nonsense. Enjoy your basement 1. Vaccination does provide some protection against contracting Covid. 2. People who don't have Covid can't transmit it. 3. The cashier is safer being around people who have been vaccinated than those who have not. 1) You sure about that? (See: the Cornell case study, where virtually that entire campus was vaccinated and Omicron spread like wildfire through it) 2) Yes. Why won't HC allow people who test negative for corona into the Hart Center? 3) See #1. Don't we know by now that getting the shots and boosters doesn't do anything when it comes to transmitting and contracting the virus, and really only helps lessening the symptoms of those who contract it? If people wish to quarantine, wear two masks, get vaccinated and boosted, etc. then that's terrific, but it's time that all these tyrannical mandates are lifted. I hope that is slowly happening with the SC blocking the Biden Covid vaccine mandate. I found it encouraging to see Starbucks dropping the vaccination mandate for employees, given their stance on most things political.

Northern Va. To Maine has more people per sq. mile then any other area in the USA. This is 2x greater then the next heavily pop. area. The South. Just my old man common sense tells me any kind of Airborne disease would spread & infect more because of such close contact.

Dear Alum,
You took that out of context -- the point is that these workers have no idea what they are looking at, don't care what they are looking at, and don't want to do it. Yet, the government mandates that the business from which I would like to procure a good in consideration for cash make these folks "check" -- for no ultimate purpose since we have proven the vaccine does not make a difference at this point with respect to transmission and reception -- And I resent your characterization of me as an elitist college graduate who does not care about service workers. You sir need to put a lid on it. I am voicing support for the business owners and their employees who should not have to do this nonsensical step that creates inefficiencies and added burden to the business and its workers.

I put zero credibility in any "news" from social media. This same 50 percent stat was also reported on Boston's ABC TV affiliate. I do consider them a credible source. They also said in that report that no data was being reported on the vaccination percentages within the two newly defined groups Wait I shared numbers that the WBZ meteorologist got and you don't believe them because he shared them on social media? Why would you question his integrity? His number likely came from the latest news from the state.

I don't normally watch channel 4 news, but now that you mention it, I guess the name is familiar. Probably would have had more impact if Lisa Hughes was tweeting out news stories instead of Eric Fisher or Steve Burton Actually, I did believe him, but only because the same information came from a conventional source which I cited. There is some accurate information on social media. There is also a lot of garbage. Hard to tell what is good or bad so I tend to take very little at face value Semi off topic, one time I went to a talk at Holy Cross from then WBZ sports anchor, Bob Lobel. When asked to comment about some of his co-workers, all he would say was about meteorologist Bruce Schwoegler was that Worcester had a lot more partly cloudy on the ground than Boston had (there had been several inches of snow a couple of days prior). Does anyone really believe the weatherman?

This time of year, I miss Shelby Scott, the lady on WBZ that they used to send out for on-the-scene reports whenever there was some sort of weather catastrophe going on.

Watching two Jesuit schools on FS1 - Looks like a big crowd with raucous fans in Milwaukee for Marquette and Xavier. My son says the place is rock in’. I sent him our status for the Hart Center…. Just sad. We are a joke - bad coach, bad team, bad environment- I am planning on going to Providence next Saturday to watch Marquette. Kit, happy to take You so you can see what is possible ….

Worked out well. Pretty exciting game, and home well before the Bengals-Titans game. Hoop fan...We'll go wherever, preferably Holy Cross, but many other places (except Northeastern) to enjoy the sport. Went to BC-Vitginia Tech. Small but enthusiastic crowd. $10 to watch lower level ACC basketball. Great time. Saturday at noon. Perfect for traffic, parking, daylight. 68-63 competitive game. You are a genius.🙂

Kit Hughes and others at Holy Cross need to know there aren’t many gerry’s and Dave’s of the world left who want to see HC basketball. Let’s embrace and welcome them, not drive them away.

SOV like your point but if we win they will return
The message for Kit is we have lost with regularity and nobody supports losers but those that bleed purple.
You need to change -find a new coach now and announce the new coach the day after out last game. The new coach can hit the portal and we can see real change
the athletic article told us nothing more than we already knew, but we did nothing or little to improve the situation.
time to move now

How does the math work? Aren't next year's freshmen signed, sealed and delivered by now?

One commitment is yes, and we have one to give if all players stay.
If Nelson keeps all of the players he has developed loyalty/commitment, and that is either great, or our players have no other scholarship offers which I think unlikely, and a positive for retention.
he is just confused on how to put together a lineup and no idea how to win games

How does the math work? Aren't next year's freshmen signed, sealed and delivered by now? Freshman as in the kid from Governor Dummer Academy, Batchelder. The big question is the status of Gates. I imagine we will find that out soon enough.

I doubt anybody else will commit until they know if Nelson has a future

19000 at the Garden every night for the Knicks and Rangers - don't you think the media would be all over the story of a 'super spreader' if there was one ? We must learn to live with the virus - there are no guarantees in this world - make your decision on how (and where even in the basement) you want to live John Stockton has his season tix suspended for refusing to comply with the mask mandate at his alma mater, Gonzaga.

And the guy who suspended him just launched a go fund me page.😂
You'd think Stockton would just comply or watch the game on the internet. Why hassle the ushers working for minimum wage?

The world we live in is upside down
Pay attention to real world evidence, make your own decision, and let government do its thing or not

Glad to here you still use a fax machine! Some think that’s old fashioned communication. 😉
