I remember Father McGrady wearing golf spikes to class to give him better traction on the ice after one storm.

Anyone else remember when they refused to postpone exams even with a blizzard that started the night before? The snow drifts kept us from using the doors and we had to jump from first floor (and in some cases second floor) windows to get to the exam. [This is different from the one Crusader who dove headfirst from a third floor window into a snow bank...in his underwear! The pictures in the Yearbook prove that really happened.]

I have a vague recollection of someone jumping from a roof to a snow bank during the Blizzard of '78.
Problem was that the "snow bank" was a buried VW bug. End result was a broken leg for the jumper - not sure how the Beetle made out.

Well, alcohol was not allowed on campus back in my 1960's (1963-67). (Answer: of course it may have been.)

Well, alcohol was not allow on campus back in the 1960's. (Answer: of course it may have been.) You missed it by two years. 😊. On campus in the spring of 1968, dorm rooms had refrigerators stocked with beer. A year later social rooms were up and running in most dorms with a built in bar. I can think of a few infamous ones in Wheeler, Healy, and a dorm whose previous name we will not mention. Hint, it was at the end of Easy Street. More than several patrons had a difficult time navigating back to the dorms in the lower campus. 😂

We dominated the campus--other "social rooms" chose not to open up when they learned that Wheeler would be open. Those were some fun times for sure. We'd go through a dozen or more half-barrels in a weekend.

Anyone else having withdrawals waiting so long to watch the hottest team in the pL play again? Go Cross Go!! Let’s not get too far out ahead of our skis. I think HC needs to string together 2-3 more wins before we refer to our cagers as hot.

We can go back and visit the thread we had pre-season where we were asked to state not our prediction of PL wins but, rather, the number of wins required for each poster to conclude that CBN was the right coach for HC. I can check the exact wording but I believe that’s the essence. No doubt his biggest fan will twist himself in knots proposing different scenarios, e.g. “well, suppose 7 players get injured and HC managed to win 7 PL games with Tomer Oron and DJ Hart starting…”

Ky this season has been another major disappointment and a few token wins, no matter how emotionally rewarding they might be, calls for a 9-11 change

This might be the poll KY was referencing: crossports.freeforums.net/thread/6971/games-hc-win-season?page=1This poll was put out in October, 2021. 70% thought before we played a single game that we would win between 10 and 15 games. Our current record is 5-15 (3-15 against D-1, though the poll didn't differentiate between divisions). There are 10 more regular season games left assuming none are actually cancelled. There would be, at minimum, 1 PL playoff game. That means 11 games left at minimum. So, our guys would have to win virtually all the remaining games to hit the higher range of games won. If we split the remaining games, the lower range will be hit. A win tomorrow would be the first 3 game winning streak in . . . . . . a very long time but might be indicative that we should be a tad more optimistic.

Last year's trip to the PL tournament was cancelled, not forfeited. We all remember HC finishing the season on a two game win streak. Then opened this season with a win over Regis. That makes 3 If you don't like wrap around streaks, I had to look. Coach Carmody's final season had a four game win streak, which obviously means there was a 3 game streak imbedded in it. HC beat Canisius, Siena, Iona, and Loyola in consecutive games

Yes, I knew about the "wraparound" but I only give "partial credit" for a D3 win and, as you said, the first 2 were the prior season. My thought was mostly going back to the Carmody days. In any case, beating Army today would be a big deal for this group. It wasn't too long ago that a win against Army was almost a given (yeah, and we almost went to the Big East ). Discuss . . . . .

We’re currently sitting on only the second back-to-back wins of BN’s head coaching career. As compared to another program on campus that’s gone back-to-back-to-back. As they say on the shores of the Chesapeake, “Beat Army!”

WooGray, I have a better one that I would like to trot out whenever we get to rehashing the Big East - a drawing of Sisyphus but Crossports won’t allow any more picture attachments and says “This forum has exceeded its attachment space limit.”
