No decent sitting D1 coach is coming to HC in the atrocious pL unless HC is willing to throw a sh*t load of $ around. We offer something other than money that literally no other school can offer for one of the coaches named in this thread

You have to be looking at 500-750k min for this position. You have seen what 250-350 gets you

We can match the current base and offer significant incentives that get the coach well north of where he is now if he wins.

Would Kit and the school want to have the basketball coaches of its men's and women's teams in a romantic relationship? Are there employment rules against this at HC? I would hate to see what would happen if their relationship went south or if the job of one of them ever became in jeopardy. I would think there would be the potential for a lot of sticky employment situations.

I think it complicates things. Might be willing to make an exception for a guy who wins 20+ games literally every single year.

Was that UVM's Becker hugging Maureen Magarity's father at the end of the Women's game?
If it is, he better get in his car to get back to Burlington before the brackets are announced.

Yes. Coach Becker was at the game.
He is flying back on the UVM helicopter.

The CAA is a better league compared to the PL. The only reason that Skerry would be interested is that he would love to come back to New England. Understatement

And remember the current HC women's coach (and current gf of said coach) used to have her now ex husband on her staff at a state school....

You have seen what 250-350 gets you FWIW, someone on the Vermont board, (see coaching carousel), thinks HC is in that range in terms of a salary for the men's coach. Whether or not rumors about HC spending serious coin for a new coach are true, remains to be seen. I think the Catamount faithful are pretty concerned about Becker heading to HC.

What has to be fixed in addition to hiring a great coach? Changing leagues ain't happenin'; at least not in the near future (nor do I expect inquiries of any kind to be made even). OOC schedule including, but not limited to; guarantee games. What else?

The turnaround needed in hoops will be more difficult than the one Chesney engineered. Chesney’s cupboard (beyond the QB situation) wasn’t bare. In fact, before the Yale implosion the previous year we looked pretty good. And Chesney turned it around the first year v our PL competition (2 close losses and 4 wins) with guys he did not recruit.
Our new MBB coach will be getting a pretty bare cupboard (in terms of average or above PL players) and will need a massive talent infusion with his first recruiting class to turn things around.

OOC schedule including, but not limited to; guarantee games. What else? Ditch the black uniforms and go with a retro look from the Potter, Vicens, Perry era. Win and put some fannies in seats. Get rid of the guy with the mike. Nothing personal but I never cared for it. No more D3 games. Try to somehow rekindle the old New England rivalries. Maybe a tourney at the DCU like they did with the Icebreaker for hockey. See if the Bud Light Daredevils had grandkids. Get the basketball alums involved.
